Title: Cycle cat rear sets Post by: twolanefun on November 03, 2008, 05:35:39 PM I had them removed and now I want to put them back on, problem is the instructions that came with them 2 years ago are useless, I had the dealer remove them at a recent service thus not sure how it went together. I have done a search for better instructions with pictures, no luck. The left side was no big deal. It is the right side that is a bit of a puzzle, convinced I'm missing a part. I have some pictures with the rear sets installed but they are not detailed enough. So if someone has them on an 02' M900 with high pipes and wants to help out please send me a PM. Thanks - Gene

and posted, for anyone else who might want to look: (http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/63/l_f2e83d0ddc6543f6903f60e6ee4ca700.jpg) this is all I got of the right side. the set, pedal and linkage are all the same as the shifter side, and the MC mounts to the engine underneath/in front on a bracket (you can see it underneath the pedal). the bracket has a pivoting piece on the front of it, where the top inboard end hooks up to the plunger for the MC, the outboard end to the linkage the bottom of the bracket has a return spring and the mount for brake light switch Title: Re: Cycle cat rear sets Post by: Jobu on November 03, 2008, 11:31:17 PM I installed them without directions. I remember having a bit of trouble with it at first too.
Another note: If tighten the pivot bolt (the one that allows the actuator to move) too much, it will not return smoothly or far enough. I learned that the hard way... the same day I learned DOT 4 burns a really pretty green and can cook the shit out of your caliper, rotor, and speedo cable ;D Title: Re: Cycle cat rear sets Post by: twolanefun on November 04, 2008, 08:52:44 AM Yeah know about that, the bolt that is used as a stop for the brake pedal needs to have a lock nut on it otherwise the bolt backs out and gradually applies the barke for you. - Gene
