Title: 750 big bore for 620 Post by: 620 d tail chop on November 07, 2008, 03:54:01 PM fast by ferracci has this kit for around $800 if you send them your cyliders 10.8 or 12.0 compression. They could also install larger valves. Has anyone done this ? I also have a 180 55 17 on the stock rim I have no problem with it.

I think they advertise a 20% increase over stock for something like 72 rear wheel hp. I wonder how much my local shop would charge to install the larger cylinders & pistons. The roads I ride on don't require boatloads of power, so any deficit my 620 has doesn't really show up. With 20% more I might be able to enjoy this bike for a long time without having to trade-up. Only problem is that I also need to upgrade the suspension & brakes. So how much money do I really want to put into a 620 instead of just buying a 1000DS or a massaged 900. been super busy, haven't found much time to ride. sourced some m750 OE barrels, and the 11:1 FBF pistons. P&P from the local duc tech, open box w/BMC, arrow slip-ons, PCIII Title: Re: 750 big bore for 620 Post by: Duck-Stew on November 10, 2008, 01:42:12 PM I built an '00 SS750 with an '05 M620 engine, M800 barrels (88mm same as the 750's), and the Ferracci 11:1 drop-in pistons for a 750 (which are the pistons to use since the crank and rods between a 750 and a 620 are the same). Did a couple other things to it also, but DAYUM it ran awesome... Much, much better than stock (mostly due to the compression and the better heads).
If you plan on keeping your bike, the 750 upgrade is a very nice option... (in my experience) --Stu |
