Title: My 696 got some ASV levers. Post by: wisdesign on November 16, 2008, 03:24:53 PM ... and they look great on her...

Black levers + Silver ano adjusters. Install was a breeze and I love them so far! Oh... the neutral switch thing-a-ma-bob on the clutch lever doesn't quite fit, so I pulled it off. Extra incentive not to stall, I guess... Title: Re: My 696 got some ASV levers. Post by: Takster on November 16, 2008, 08:51:15 PM ... and they look great on her... Title: Re: My 696 got some ASV levers. Post by: wisdesign on November 16, 2008, 09:30:32 PM Still loving the Arrows... although I've never ridden a termi equipped bike. As I mentioned on my previous posts about the Arrows... I like having something a little different. Along those lines... I was looking at the Pazzo's or CRG's, but thought the adjuster option on these looked a bit nicer in both form and function. I've got smaller hands than whoever Ducati intended to ride the 696, so these are a big plus - especially on the brake side. Going for the shorty on the clutch side means the throw feels a bit "stiffer" as you lose some of the mechanical advantage (read: leverage) provided by a longer lever. Takes a little getting used to, but it's nice to move it in to reign in the "friction zone" that exists in the last 1/8" of travel with the stock lever. Moving the lever closer to the bar also means you've got a bit more finger strength and dexterity with which to modulate the lever.

Probably one of the most functional upgrades too! No more tucking in your shoulder to see what's going on behind you before swapping lanes. Also beneficial on the weekend rides for that quick glance to see how far behind everyone is...
Makes the bike look noticeably lower as well. Much more "cafe racer" and mean. Here's a comparo photo... (http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp17/wisdesign/Hyatt_Reservoir_2.jpg) |
