A few weeks ago, lm (Michelle) calls me at work to tell me her friend found an abandoned kitten in their yard, and it looks to be only about 3 weeks old. "crap, another pooping thing in the house", was my first response.
When I got home, stories of her friend Ed taking the cat, just as soon as he moves into his new house, filled the air.
Tired from a hard days work, I plopped down on the couch, feet up on the coffee table, Michelle brings out baby kitty and puts it on my stomach. It then proceeds to crawl up my chest, snuggles under my chin, and purrs itself to sleep.
Ed.... will not be getting this cat, I say quietly to myself (instant love)
Baby kitty had many names, mostly, because it's sex had yet to be determined.
Punkin, squeaker, Boo.... an endless list, but mostly..... just plain ol baby kitty.
Baby kitty passed away this morning.
It woke up slower than usual, not quite it's feisty self, struggled to eat, and when held, looked as if it just wanted to sleep.
Michelle took it into the vet before heading into work..... ten minutes later, she got the call that baby kitty had passed.
Some sort of virus they said.
It's been a very long day, and if Nick (speedog), had not wandered into town as a great distraction... I'd be knee deep in a bottle of tequila right now.
bye bye baby kitty :'(
:'(
Sorry to hear BP.
Sad.. :-\

Poor lil' guy.
:-[
Another little Furry friend has blessed us with there presence, albeit for a short span of time,
Take heart in the fact that for the short time the little guy was with you, he would have had a happy little life.
Goodbye little mate :'(
But sadly a kitten that young separated from it's mother will have a very poor immune system, they need mothers milk for a little longer yet.
RIP baby kitty :'(
:'(
i'm SO sorry guys
:'(
Sorry Joel.
Being as young as she was when separated from her mama it's a wonder she survived as long as she did.
RIP kitteh..
damnit :'(
that's sad. kittens are just about the cutest things ever. :'(
Sorry to hear, bp. :'(
It will forever be chasing butterflies in kitty heaven.
Sorry to hear BP, I know it's hard, but just think about what a wonderful thing you did for baby kitty. You took it in and gave it a comfortable place to be with food and a warm place to sleep. It's time was short, but at least you cared enough to make that time good ~
JM
RIP sweet kitteh.
So sorry, BP. :'(
aww, baby kitty was one of the few cats I liked.
Sorry for you loss BP.
Oh heartbreaking. I'm so sorry LM & BP......
:'(
Balls. :-[
sorry bp...i thought it was just a funny picture.
i'll stop whacking off so much.
Sorry man. Poor little guy. :'(
Our kitteh Lucy was about that size when we got him. Notice I said 'him'. We named him Lucy after Lucille Ball because of his dark orange fur and he was so small his sex was TBD also. Never bothered to look again but the vet corrected us when we took him in to get spayed. Now we just say that Lucy is short for Lucifer, because he's a terror. :)
Anyway, his fate was unsure at first also because he seemed so small and sickly but after a few weeks of eyedropper feeding he was ready to graduate to soft food. He used to sleep on my shoulder just like in the OP picture. Now he's my puppy, follows me around everywhere and sleeps next to my head.
Sorry to hear that. :'(
As others have said, he had a good home with ya.
Glad my visit was timely.
:'(
Sorry to hear, bp.
Sorry to hear it, BP; good on ya for giving the little critter a happy little life.
Sorry BP and LM. :'(
