Has anyone else seen this yet? It's part robot, part RC car, part speaker phone, part web cam, and totally awesome!

It's called Rovio - and for $295 I'd buy this over a PS3 anyday!!!
Check out the website for the manufacturer:

All it needs are arms to pick things up and the possablitites become endless! Imagine feeding your pets while you're on vacation - or better yet virtually walking your dog while you're half way around the world by remote control!! [thumbsup]
This totally wins the "cool tech" award for today! [bow_down]
Here's the amazon.com link for it:

But this is real - check out the demo video - this is totally cool!
Reminds me of one of the American Pie movies...

Looking deeper into the products of WowWee, it's actually the same company that makes Robosapien and RoboRaptor

It's a mobile webcam that has on board speakers, mic, and camera along with the ability to navigate by remote.

so basically you use it to bug your pets..
cool toy, but a bit expensive.
I'll wait to see what kind of hacks people come up with, and wait for the price to drop to $150..
It's actually pretty cool. RadioShack has it for $249.95....

I can't find it now, but I saw a hack where a guy was controlling it with his iPhone. Usefulness still in question though...

that depends on how quiet it is, what the zoom is like, and what the resolution on the webcam is.

I thought so too. The demo videos on the company website really make it look like a cool gadget to have.

I'm guessing one would use it to take videos of other people peeing. It seems almost made for infiltrating a bathroom stall.
Ew.
Johnny 5 is still the best robot

or home surveillance for when your out of town
home surveilance when out of town yes...

of course they are. you extend the boom and mount "equiptment" in front of the camera then purposely drive it...well, you can see where this is going.
Thats a great Idea for an interactive porn site.
You log on they give you control of the camera and you have a Mic and a robot arm to preform some shenanigans of your own...
I'd pay a couple bucks for a site like that.
