Title: Is it babysitting if it's your own kids?
Post by: Dana on November 28, 2008, 05:50:22 PM
Thursday and Friday were for the family and Saturday and Sunday mornings were for me.  I put my work clothes on and head to the basement by 7am.  Wife comes down a few minutes later with the kids explaining she has to go to work and will be back around 7pm.  (This work trip was suppose to be on Monday, but someone's lack of planning means our weekend is shot).

The boy has soccer and paino and the girl...well she's just 9 months old, so she's happy to do anything (except work on motorcycles or let daddy do anything else he wanted to do).  Why do I feel like I am a soccer dad chauffeuring everyone around in a minivan?

Happy Saturday!  [thumbsup] Maybe I'll take the daughter and visit about a half dozen bike shops during the afternoon.

Well, you're a dad taking YOUR son to soccer.

Are you driving a minivan?

If so 'nuff said. [cheeky]

My question?!

You're not admitting to that are you?!

It's a Toyota bB (equivalent to the Scion XB in the states).

Maybe it's just my impression that any van/truck like vehicle feels like a minivan once you have kids piling into it.

Any ladies looking for a DILF?   :o

Haha!

DILF. I have never thought of this being the natural extension of the MILF, one of my favorite "categories."

Kids crawling into the back of an Audi A3 do not make the hatchback a minivan.

Kids crawling into an "XBox" go a long way toward making it a grocery-getter. Thankfully, the bB has the aerodynamics of a brick, saving it from "Minivan" status.

No, it's not baby sitting if it's your own kids.

My perspective's a little different because I'm divorced, and my kids are young enough to not know what the real deal is with "why Daddy lives in New York".

No, it's an issue between the two of you, not babysitting.

Even when my ex- can't get her shit together this week and I'm forced to be out of work taking care of them, I don't see it as baby sitting.  I see it as wonderful time spent with my sons... caused by the supreme inconvenience of my ex-wife's vagaries...
