Title: M1100 other colour options (updated colour and for Bazz)
Post by: mattyvas on November 29, 2008, 04:17:29 AM
I've been messing around on PS with swapping that colours about.

Here are three other options over what is offered.
Stock is Red/Red and White/Black.

This is Red/Black.

This is Silver/Black a little hard to see.

This is D/P Old Skool tank option.

As requested Red frame Old Skool tank.

Bazz's request, just don't look too hard the work isn't great but you get the idea.

My last version, well maybe might try adding Craigs Ex-Box

Okay think I have just about got it, now where's my degree.... [laugh] [laugh]

Very nice!
I like the old skool option myself.
What about a red trellis option with a contrasting colour tank?

that old tank option looks good! you have to buy that separately? just the panels?

Anyone else wonder how it would look with a red subframe, or maybe even a gold or (streetfighter) bronze frame and subframe?

Red subframe was one of the first mods I saw coming on this bike, but the red bike/black frame looks surprisingly good - to the point where it would be a dealbraker if I couldn't have it that way.

Thanks Matty [thumbsup]

I do think the black on black frames look best.
It kinda helps with the blending of two frames and brings your eye back to the style and shape of the bike.

I actually really like the look of the new monsters. It's a shame I just don't *fit* on the things!

I reckon Silver/Titanium Tank and Cowl, Red trellis frame, Quat-D exbox and MotoWheels Rearsets for the win. My Photoshop skillz are lame though.

my mspaint skillz are poor to shithouse, but sorta like this:

The lanky passenger pegs and the rear exhaust gone would make it look wicked IMO.

The BLACK looks FAAARRKEN HOT!  :o :o :o

And I prefer the 'old' front end.  ;)

Yeah the black and gold does look good. Now all you need is the 1100S Australian release dates and a pocket full of notes.

Thanks people, happy to give you all a look at the inner workings of my Monster mind.
It really didn't take too long to create them as they are on black background.
I am a fan of the black/black with O/S decal, reminds me a little of Black/Black/Gold from Flight Cycles
It was a modern copy of the old 900 Pantah, always liked that bike.

and Matty, your shots proved one thing...just how small that new 'fairing' is....

anyone got any reports about it - I read in Ride Magazine that getting the bike above 180 is difficult because of the lack of protection/deflection.

Um, unless you're heading for the track, I don't think that should be much of a concern.   ;)

Some of us might be taking it to the track, you could always look at this incredibly fugly item from Moto Wheels screens (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myproducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=853|Misc.%20Parts%3A%20Italian&productID=6664&showDetail=1&categoryID=858|Ducati%20Monster%20Misc&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=168|European%20Motorcycle%20Parts)

Yeah can't say I'm a fan of that screen at all..........
It does absolutely nothing for the look of the bike.

This is how I see an M1100 can look with a little work of course.

Isn't that what I said? What are you, a parrot?  [cheeky]

^^^SEE!!^^^

And that screen is the ugliest thing I have ever seen! Reminds me of the Pope's hat.

hard to tell what this looks like without looking at in from other angles (or preferably IRL)

+ Angrier headlamp surround

+ Belly Pan

There is loads of 696/1100 bling starting to come out..  :)

yeah, but Monsters aren't great cruisers anyway - you rip off that fairing and you get an even less pleasant experience.

The top speed of one of these things should be 240 ish? but you can't use the engine because of the lack of screen - that's form above function! blah!

I don't think they were ever meant to be cruisers. More of a weekend thrasher.  ;)

You wanna cruiser, buy a BMW.  ;D

Notice I didn't say Harley, they are more like LA-Z-BOYS with wheels. Hey Rob!  ;)

Yeah, I get your point, but I try & not ride through scrub and fields of wheat.  ;)

I keed, I keed.  ;D

I ride every day, to & from work and I have no problem riding without a screen. Touch wood, nothing has hit me in the chest area and I'm certainly not gonna hit 180 going to work, maybe hit 180 going home.  ;)

I might put the screen back on to see if there is a difference.  ???

"Grassy Hoppers" are a bastard, riding with some mates going from Vic to SA a few years ago, we rode into a HUGE swarm of the suckers (3 or 4 K's worth) and we nearly blew our motors as the insects got wedged in all our cooling fins and oil coolers !!  :o

Aaaah the smell of toasty yummy insects.  [thumbsup]
