Title: New to Ducati, new to Monster Post by: havocs on December 02, 2008, 04:40:46 PM Hi Guys
Who: Havocs Where: Perth Do: Numbers Ride: Monster 1000DS 2005 Senna (Grey w Red Wheels), Termis, belly pan, carbon everywhere... Need some help on the bike...any reason why it won't restart in gear after stalling at the lights (I am pulling the clutch lever in before hitting the starter !! but am left looking like a nob searching for neutral!) Any thoughts? Title: Re: New to Ducati, new to Monster Post by: bazz20 on December 02, 2008, 04:59:01 PM yep faulty micro switch on cluch lever or brocken wire and will it start with side stand down another problem spot , by the way welcome aboad
Title: Re: New to Ducati, new to Monster Post by: craigo on December 02, 2008, 05:12:15 PM yep, what Baz said. you should be able to see the micro switch from underneath the clutch lever, when you pull the lever in it should depress. You generally just have to loosen the bottom nut clutch lever and jiggle the switch into the correct position then retighten it and it should be sweet. If you over adjust it though, the bike will start in gear, this is a Bad Thing.
Welcome aboard as well, we love pics of new monsters btw :) especially blinged up ones! Title: Re: New to Ducati, new to Monster Post by: Jukie on December 02, 2008, 09:53:15 PM Welcome havocs :-*

Title: Re: New to Ducati, new to Monster Post by: Dannog on December 04, 2008, 02:17:24 AM You can always remove the kick stand cabling and bridge out the circuit. (as I did really easy with a hard wire) so that you can start in any gear you like with the stand down.

It will start in neutral with the kick stand down - so no issue there. I have located the micro switch, activated it manually but still no luck. Looks like a broken wire could be the issue. I'll have a look at the fuses tomorrow in case the problem lies there!
