(http://www.biondani.com/temp/696Red_mod.jpg) I think the original black subframe is underwhelming, and the silver footpeg supports are too silver... How does this look to you? Do you think those parts can easily be painted? Where would I find the right paint/color (I don't have any experience in repainting bikes...)? Just something to watch out for if you plan on painting there. Although I think some people have already painted those black (donno how many miles they've put on them though).

As mentioned, the footpeg carriers might wear through quickly. Parts like this are often powder coated because it's a bit tougher. Matching powder coat to paint could be tricky. ColorRite makes and sells matching paint for Ducatis. You can also probably get it mixed up at any good paint shop. I don't know how good a match colorRite is. http://www.colorrite.com/ You probably want to get it painted professionally with a two part curing paint. Spray paint in cans just dries by letting the solvent evaporate. Two part curing paints actually cure like epoxy. They are more durable and more resistant to things like fuel spills. You can do it yourself but it takes some skill and good equipment. Unless you really want to invest time and money it may make more sense to just disassemble the parts and just take them to a professional. Front and subframe look more integrated & as a union instead of two different pieces. Support blends w swing. Maybe Termis would a little more eyecatching & perhaps shorter tail? Title: Re: Advice on paint job Post by: Raux on December 04, 2008, 01:48:48 AM The rear swingarm is actually grey. so be careful is you do the rear set as the grey stands out even more then. for the short tail, get the RG Racing in black. will definitely add to the look. love the rear sub in red!
also, powdercoat the headlight frame and front exhaust shield black. |
