Title: GRRR!!!
Post by: Porsche Monkey on December 07, 2008, 11:07:12 AM
Its a beautiful Sunday with the temp around 70 or so and I'm getting ready for a ride with my Buddy Greg.  Checked my tire pressures, did a pre ride visual, changed out my visor to the tinted one, mapped out a new route I wanted to try, and was just waiting for Greg to call when the wife says she doesn't want me to go because she isn't feeling well and I need to watch the kid.  DAMN DAMN DAMN.  I am so frustrated right now.  I have been wanting to ride all week and now I can't.  Its too bad she is such a good wife or I may have gone anyway.

I hope your not expecting any sympathy. Because if you are, your shit out of luck.

It's 25 degrees and snowing here in New England so you can take your 70 degree weather and.....well you know the rest.  [laugh]

Spent last week in Rochester NY, on business, freezing my ass off. Took a nice long ride Saturday just to thaw out

complaining about a situation lots of people would desperately like to be in may not garner a lot of sympathy.

But I do get that it's frustrating when plans change last minute....a frequent thing with children.

best to go with the flow and take a wonderfull opportunity to spend some great daddy time.

I would have liked to have gone for a ride this beautiful Sunday but there's just this little issue called a couple of inches of snow and at 3:40 pm it is 24 degrees.

Oh well, maybe by April.    Dolph

I just got back off the mountain and it's even cold in South Carolina today. Thirty miles and my fingers are frozen. A short ride is better than no ride though. [thumbsup]

Nope, no sympathy for you.
When I married and had a child, I made the decision that I would put their needs ahead of my own. I even quit riding completely so that I would not leave a widow and orphan behind if I bit it hard. My son is 23 now, making his own way in life, and a very intelligent person with a number of positive attributes, and my wife will be provided for if/when I die. I am now free to ride.

Except when it's 43F and windy, like today.

I know I'm not gonna get much sympathy but its so nice out right now. The only riding I get to do lately is to and from work sitting in traffic.  That's not how I want to be using my new BT-016s.

55-60 today, not a cloud in the sky. Got 150 miles in w/ new twisties and a pistol range session sandwiched in between. But I'd trade it all in for a loving wife and child... wait, no I wouldn't!   [evil]

Yeah...You pretty much got that right.   ;D

Let see....I spent the morning shovelling 6 more inches of fresh snow and the afternoon on ladder putting up Christmas lights.

Oh well....it's -22 Celsius  (-7 Fahrenheit) right now.  I don't think I would have enjoyed a ride on the Monster that much today anyways.  [moto]   [bang]

Oh man, I feel bad for you-I would've mentioned that earlier but I was too busy spending this sunny California day in the twisties.

My wife? She came with me  ;D

Your not my friend right now.  My wife was in a bad bike crash when she was 18 riding pillion on some jap crap.  I have been able to get her on the Duc once and it was only around the neighborhood and never above 30.  I understand that your wife has her own bike and I have suggested that to mine but it was a short disscussion.  She says that she "may" get on again after I get her her own gear instead of using my spares which are a bit big for her.  I would buy her the best out there if I knew for sure she would go.  I still just wanted so bad to get out and ride today.

I wish.  I took friday off to get the rest of my wisdom teeth out.  My wife is a dental assistant and made the appointment for me and then stood there and smiled as her boss broke several of his tools trying to take out my stubborn teeth.  I'm starting to think she may be evil.

My wife and I have been on the IVF program for a long while now...so if "the kid" is getting in the way, post it to us, we'll put him/her in the sidecar...

Actually a bit too hot to go out yesterday 34deg C and about 80% humidity + dodging the lightning strikes on the way home, all good fun!

So you probably don't want to hear that I rode (with my girl) 100miles to go see a band on Saturday night, then rode another 100miles home afterwards - got home around 2am, it was still about 20 degrees... C - thats almost 70 degrees F...

A pretty fun way to spend a Saturday night!

LOL - Don't worry, there will be plenty of good riding days to come.

Just did a fairly short ride out and rode Park Road 37 then I cruised out to Rio Medina on 471, took the back way to Medina Lake on 1283 and came back through on 37 again. Not much traffic out - did see quite a few bikes on my last run through 37.

Did you get those new tires scrubbed in yet? I noticed that they seem to get a lot hotter than the Pilot Powers, but they feel great in the corners.

Yeah they are getting scrubbed in.  I only have two good hill country rides on em and a few rides to work.  Haven't really got them that hot yet.  Hopefully we have some good weather this weekend.

Took the day off to take the wife to the Doctor and do some Christmas shopping plus a few other chores. Get back home around 2:30 and it's clear blue skies and 70F - hmm - what should I do for the rest of the afternoon?

Yep - time to ride the Monster for a couple of hours in the twisties

Fun fun  [moto]
