I'd make a snarky comment, but I think the pics say it all. Plus it only has 3xxx miles on it, so apparently the chicks only dig it enough for him to ride it 500 miles a year.

That's gotta be a photochop, right?

I've seen similar bikes around... I never understood, why do they do it? Is there any rational reason? Does it make the bike faster or something?

because they're superfast drag bikes, and only manly bikers can handle them.

Yes but what are the advantages of the longer swingarm? I googled it but couldn't find anything. ARE there any advantages or is it just a matter of length compensation?
If the swingarm was normal length, he might accidently get the front tire off the ground when pulling away from a stoplight. The dreaded" wheelie! :o"
I know with DH mountain biking that bikes with longer wheel bases tend to be more stable at speed. But, that doesn't go without a drawback. You turning ability is compromised as the wheelbase is stretched.
If it is the same for motorcycles (I wouldn't see why not) this type of wheelbase would be good for straight line "drag" riding, but try that thing in the twisties and you will probably have your hands full.
yep. stretched arms are for drag racing [thumbsup]
what I REALLY want to see is someone putting wheelie bars on their normal wheelbase sportbike ;D
they'd be the coolest kid on the block!
Did they get the chain from their garage door?
That bike is hideous.
Central/north Missouri is flat as hell (corn belt). South MO is a little better with the Ozark hills, but it's a long way from the population centers.
Looooong slab highways and roads with no twisties. It almost seems pointless to own/ride a sports bike that is built for twisties. Massive chicken strips are the norm lol.
I don't condone it, but I understand why these goofy mods happen. It's the environment. Darwin in action. ;D

That was a 600 right? I can understand if it was 1000 or something but they ruined that bike.
^^^ Agreed. I could see stretching out a Busa or something that weighs 500 pounds dry and isn't much fun in the twisties anyway, but it's a 600 (and he didn't mention having any engine work done). I have half a mind to go act like I'm really interested just to meet the guy and get a test ride ;D. Oh, and to see if I could pick up chicks (apparently one of the side effects of the stretch).
P.S. - Next time you're in Central Mo, I'll show you some twisties Johnny ;D

No doubt, Jar. I may take you up on that offer [thumbsup]. I'd have to borrow my brother's HD, though [puke] [puke].
I didn't mean any disrespect for MO (sorry if it read that way). MO was home for me. Haven't been back for a while so I'm due to go.
Spent my 1st 22 years in Mo.: graduated from Rolla, partied & hooliganed in Columbia and Springfield, grew up in St. Louis. I have fond memories of hunting pheasant etc around Mexico, Mo. (flat), riding dirt bikes all over St. Genevieve county (not flat!), float trips on the Current and Black rivers, etc.
FTR, MO is a beautiful and excellent place and folks are genuinely decent. One could do worse.
My folks and 2 bro's still live there. Life & work took me away a long time ago.
I will say, though, that the skeeters there in the summer are the biggest friggin' blood-sucking bastards I've ever experienced anywhere!! [cheeky]
Where are you located, BTW?
Johnny

LMAO!!!!
well, that's, uh....
[puke]
I think I just ^^^^ in my mouth a little bit.
In it's original form the CBR600 is a nice bit of kit [if that type of bike rings your bell] but the bike in the AD is a total wreck in my opinion. Whats with the extended swing arm? perhaps it's to make up for shortage in other depts, and as for picking up chicks if you need a badass bike, boy are you in trouble [coffee]
BTW i do know about drag bikes but a CBR600 come on.
That just hurt to look at. I wish I could buy it as a rescue (like a puppy). Then nurse it back to health.
that is the norm around here.....Not my thing but it is somebody's! I like the 600 CBR's but not into the streach thing....I love watching guys on those type bike doing 45MPH in full race tuck!
Put some meaty knobbies on that piece and lets go hill climbing. This isn't made to go around the twisties, it's made to go over them.... Oh don't forget the beered [drink] up buddies with the hook and rope in case you don't quite make it.
Dunno guys... it looks super duper fast to me!!!! [roll]
What if it was a Ducati in Drag?

Will this be OK since its for the Drag Strip?
I've seen a few in Eximport in Houston, and they should be illegal for the streets.

see, but that's the thing... it's built the make the beast with two backs up for racing. it could be a 'busa and I'd appreciate it for what they're going for.
homey's repsol stickered 600 isn't exactly in the same league

We really are threadjacking hardcore here....I'm from Joplin and Springfield. Partied a lot in KC, some in Columbia, some in St. Louis. The twisties in the Ozarks are some of the best roads in the country. I'm in Minneapolis now. i know two groups of riders that go down there every year. [beer]
threadjack over

Exactly the 999 gets the pass because it is form following function, built for a purpose that does NOT involve parking lot pimpin
He said he has the stock stuff to put it back together.
BTW I always wanted to ride one of those hill climbers [thumbsup]
Here in Chicago their are stretched swingarm bikes all over the place.
The best is when you see some kid on a brand new busa (temp tags and all) with a 14over swingarm on it (chrome of course) that cant even ride. [thumbsup]
Maybe the swingarm is for all the ladies you can pick up with such a fly ride?

I overheard someone telling another bystander that the tailchop on a friends Monster was to make it look like it had an extended swing arm. [laugh]
I had to walk away quickly so as not to spray coffee all over the bikes as I began to laugh uncontrollably.
Classic Squid-Mobile. Never ridden, mostly parked, waste of time and money.
I've spent a lot of summers in Myrtle Beach, SC. (redneck riviera) Lots of custom cars and bikes cruise the strip there. (I've cruised my customs there too.) I'd guess that more than half of the bikes you see are stretched. any kind of bike, any displacement. riding around in packs. lots of girls driving the bikes, too. keeps my head on a swivel the whole time I'm there.
