Title: Ex-Multistrada owner, looking for a Monster
Post by: peanut_man on December 08, 2008, 08:07:16 PM
Hello all,

I was a happy owner of a black MTS 1000DS until last July when a car decided to ignore my turning signal (OEM mind you, not one of those dim-lit after market LED) and trying to pass me on the right while I was turning right.  Ouch is right.  Still trying to recover from that encounter.

I went to an open house 2 weeks ago for a Duc dealer near me.  Got to test ride an 848 and an M696.  It totally perk my interest on riding again.  Taking advantage of the 24F weather outside... I have time to look around.  While the 848 was quite sporty, it's too much and too extreme.  Reminds me of the Honda CBR600RR I had and promptly sold with in a year.  The M696 is just sweet, with some quirks just to make it interesting.

So here I am, joining a Monster forum and doing research.  Hopefully I'll have a new toy by spring if i'm a good boy.   ;D

Welcome. Bought a 696 about 5 months ago, and while I really enjoy it, I kind of wish I had gone with the S2R instead FWIW
