that wasn't religion. that was a megalomaniac brainwashing the masses using religion as a front.
for this to go further it needs to be moved into the religion/politics forum

There is no religion forum, and the argument that flat out says "Religion is wrong" isn't really debateable-there is no common ground to be found. I'm guessing this'll be locked soon enough, which I'd encourage.

last time I checked (1 min ago) it wasn't locked.
and seeing as how it involves religion and that is something that will bring debate, it belongs in that forum

pagan holiday wins
easter is a pagan holiday too.
it was adopted and transformed by the christians, but it still started as a pagan holiday.
religion = set of morals written by man
spirtuality = belief in a higher power
separate, but often mixed together to give creedence to one another and the shit hits the fan when the proponents sheeple don't question what the old fart in the funny hat up front is saying.
and why the hell is it that just about all religions feel the need to have their messengers wear some funny assed hat anyway?

The worship of the chocolate egg laying rabbit goddess.

The worship of the chocolate egg laying rabbit goddess.
shouldn't that be "the chicken egg laying chocolate rabbit goddess?"
the eggs are traditonally chicken eggs, while the rabbits are chocolate.
religion to alot of people i know is less about living, and more about dying. humans fear what they don't understand, and the happenings after death are one of those things. religions are a way for people to bring some understanding into the afterlife (even if they can't physically prove any of it). it makes death a more comfortable thing to think about, talk about, or even acknowledge.
and im not stating facts, just some opinions/thoughts.
as a roman catholic, i obviously have a faith, but also have many doubts, and questions about the physical entity of my religion on this planet entitled "the roman catholic church."
so take my thoughts for what they're worth, which could quite possibly be nothing ;)

He may have been refering to Cadbury Creme Eggs - far superior to the hard boiled variety.

Almost make the beast with two backsing speechless! That was one of the best Rube Goldberg's I've seen! [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]
Blaming religion for all the terrible things that have been done in it's name is akin to blaming guns for violence. Like guns religion isn't the cause of the problem. Its merely the tool used by the perpetrator, in this case the religious, to obtain a desired effect. Weather the desired effect is something universally good or bad it has always been at the will of the user.
Imagine if everyone in the US who bought a new motorcycle for the next 20 years believed that the only thing a motorcycle could be used for was to do wheelies, stoppies, and headstands in downtown highway traffic at 5pm and in mall parking lots on the weekends. No more motorcycles for transportation, relaxation, track days, or cross country trips. Only stunting!
What would the general public's perception of motorcyclists be? What would the culture of motorcyclists be like? Who would have the louder voice in declaring who "motorcyclists" are and what "motorcycling" is?
