We had the honor of hosting the first dealer in house preview of the new Streetfighter ! I hope you enjoy our clean detailed shots of the bike !
Awesome shots! I love the 'fighter. The only thing I would change would be getting upswept pipes under the seat to show of the SSS more and the mirrors. The rest of it is superb!
Any ideas on the list price in the US?
Sweet [thumbsup]
Very nice shots [thumbsup]
Its growing on me but that headlight and cans need to go ;D
fantastic photography [thumbsup]
it's not the monster i'm used too, but it's growing on me.
Awesome looking streetfighter! That's why it was voted bike of the year i guess:-) wonder if they have a price for it yet.
Did anyone ride it?

Agreed! That would look sweeeeet ;D
Sweet pictures. [thumbsup] [evil]
Overall, I really like the look of this bike.
I prefer ther under seat cans over the side cans.
The new handle bar controls look cleaner and less bulky.
Can't wait to see one in person. [moto]
The cans and that 'belly pan' are fugly
Gonna have to get used to it, but I don't think I can get used to the cans or the headlight...

Those plastic brake/clutch reservoirs have got to go too. Stick out like dogs balls.
you know, i think it's growing on me nicely. [thumbsup]
(that oil cooler shroud is tragic, though.)
Big fan of the fighter, but if I somehow was able to buy one I would change/ditch:
1. Front fender
2. mirrors
3. Bars (for clip-on's)
4. Do some sorta undertail exhaust to show off the SSS
5. Etc
Not a bad package overall, but I agree with the modifying the headlight and exhaust. Looks purpose built to take on the Street Triple ~

$18999 - no one gets to ride this particular one.. I was told there are only 5 bikes being shown around the World as we speak.. Ducati does listen especially right now ! They have asked for input on what DP accessories we would like to see. We all know that things like exhaust, mirrors, etc often get changed right away so those suggestions are a given. What configuration for the DP exhaust ? One on each side up high ? Under tail ? short stubby ? clip ons ? taller bars ? what do you hope to see ??
A Termi S4R Shorty Carbon Style Exhaust Would look sweet on it, if you were going to do undertail a 1098 system may fit?
I like the position of the exhaust.. Would like to see the Termi kit have a more asymetrical nozzle like the HM racing can.

As Dave says, the S model streetfighter with Ohlins is $19k, but they have a base model which I'm getting and it's price is $15k.
Ducati has one on their stand at the cycleworld show series traveling the US. It was at the Long Beach show last week.
Chris
I think a simple 2-1 exhaust like this would look nice.

So, I am I the only person who actually likes the look of the stock exhaust?

It's not bad looking but an under the tail exhaust would look better to open up the sight line of the SSS.
I can't stand the belly pan or whatever that is behind the front wheel. They are ugly on Monsters too.

Nope, I like it too.
Dave, is that a foam air filter on the front cylinder's belt cover?
I like the stock can as well...what wrong with them ?
Color maybe...for that amount some titan would make it even better...and silver is sexy
Next thing is the mirrors....only thing that makes it too 1100ish.
They should be silver as well...and thinner...
I LOVE the headlight...also the radiators and stuff...
Its the new top line Monster :)
For real...
[thumbsup]
I don't completely like its overall look. That doesn't mean I wouldn't mind owning one but...too many angles going on. Not enough curves. I bet its a real "Monster" to ride though. Looks like fun!

One on each side up high please. Just make certain that it doesn't completely cook the rider. The Zards for the monster are a good place to start for inspiration.
Why so many shots of the right side of the bike but not a single one of the whole left side? What's this bike got to hide?
Overall I think it is an ugly bike. It looks fat. I can see they are going for a Super Duke thing with that lower shroud but it just looks like shit. The best shot of the bike was from the rear. I think the 1100 Monster looks far and away better.
I'm sure the fighter is powerful, handles well, good brakes and all that but Ducati has dropped the ball on the design. I wouldn't buy one but I'm looking forward to seeing one properly modded out.
I like the stock cans as well. I'm sure the Termi and other aftermarket offerings will be sleeker looking as well. I think a 2-1 in the same location would look nice too. Never been a big fan of underseat exhausts. They look fantastic but the heat is annoying for riding around town.
The only thing I don't really like is the shape of the belly fairing. I think it would look better either without that or with something a bit sleeker looking.
Overall, I think it's a great package.
As far as mods/aftermarket items -- I like low, GP-style short exhaust cans. It's also clear that something would have to be done immediately to hide those ridiculously huge/prominent master cylinders. [laugh]
Am I the only one who thinks that the bike looks like it's nose-down to the ground? Maybe if there's a rider on board, the rear suspension will compress and the bike will appear better balanced, but in a static pose it just looks jacked-up in the rear... :-\

Dave, is that a foam air filter on the front cylinder's belt cover?
yes it is..
Ok, next question. Why?
As for Exhaust I would def. fo with a "high and tight" undertail such as the 1098 or even the HyperMotard.
No reasn to cover up that pretty SSS (my opinion)..
I think it's a matter of subtraction rather than addition with this one. Here is how I would/will do it if/when i get mine,....

I'd rather have a Brutale.
I do think it looks pretty mean and yes it's a matter of taking things off rather than putting things on.
Like the shorty can, but I'd be looking at something in the undertail dept.
I like the basic look of the bike with the exception of the Mufflers ( which I would like high and tight as some one else mentioned ).
Also the piece used to scoop air to the oil cooler needs to be sleeker ( also mentioned by someone else ) .
Dave , the bike does come in other color combinations yes ? When is it's release date here in the States please ? Dolph
I still think it looks great just as I did on release. These pics look much better though.
As far as mods
I'd like an undertail exhaust and clip-ons would be great (along with some CRG bar end mirrors)
Overall [thumbsup]
anyone got a rich uncle with 19k to spare?

The Triumph 675 motor is no slouch, for sure, but the 1098 mill will kick the snot out of it from idle on up!
I'm curious to see the buying publics reaction to the asthetics and price point.
I have to say I'm warming up to it. Still getting cheated out of 100 cc though.
Would have to have the new termi kit though. And the belly pan would have to go. Maybe a round headlight and lane splitters. [thumbsup]

+1. Yeah, I agree about the belly pan. Has to go. Anybody seen a photoshop of what it would look like minus belly pan?
Perhaps the oil cooler is so obtrusive the designers had to try to blend it in . . .
And I agree on the Brutale...
Why ha sDucati gone thru all the trouble of setting up SSS bike and then covering them up with the exhaust. They have perfected the under tail look. And with the SSS it looks totally bad ass.
This thing is insanely light. Loved the show, thanks for a great personal tour of the shop Dave!!

If you are ever in town, stop by and check out the shop! Dave spent an hour giving us the behind the scenes tour (while everyone was getting ready for the show). Even Marty spent an hour showing us the cutom maps and dyno tuning work he's done.
Fantastic stuff!
For the record, there is no mystery why Ducati Seattle was selected to unveil this bike. Absolutely top flight shop. Recently took my monster there for its 6000. The 2 words that come to mind are 'Quality' and 'Professional'.
I think it's cool but I'm not fully vested. I'm sure it'll have to grow on me. Overall it still looks attractive.
Why no pictures if the left hand side of the bike ?...................because its a mess thats why! Several European journalists have tested the bike and apparently all comment on how messy the left side is.
here's one from Munch's trip to IMS Seattle.

OK, Well that's me sitting on the bike and the reason there are no pics of the left side is because the darn thing is always on the kickstand leaning to the left so the right side is easier to photograph, end of story. The left side of the bike looks just fine - lets not start any unfounded rumors k? [beer]

Munch,
How is the riding position as compared with a Monster?
I'm not Munch but I'm the guy in the photo.
It is very similar to the new 1100 (got to sit on that at the IMS show) but slightly more aggressive than an S2 - S4R.
The pegs are a little lower than both bikes and offer a bit more leg-room
The bars are lower than the last generation of monster but so are the bars on the new monsters.
All in all I think it is a good compromise between performance and comfort. It will keep your weight forward for cornering and acceleration but it won't kill you on an all day ride.
As you can see by the smile on my face, I like it! [laugh]
Here's more of my review on Ducati ms : http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?t=56107 (http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?t=56107)
(Munch is the guy in the first photo with the Ducati jacket, I'm the guy with the big grin ;D)
Fairly close in my opinion. The streeefighter seems to have you a tad bit forward in a more aggressive riding position. With the peg position, I found it extremely comfortable.
i think that if you put the mvagusta f-4 undertail exhaust on this it would look great the really thin pipes under the seat would look really cool.
the lower oil cooler faring from the side looks awful but its amazing that from the front it looks very thin. so if someone can mod that to possibly move it right under the radiator it would look really cool. not sure if its possible but something to consider.
flynbulldog and Munch,
Thanks for the feedback. [clap]

Did you find the family jewels to be squashed into the tank as on the monster 696 and others?
