A year ago i made a tail light for my monster out of PVC, Lexan, and a bunch of LEDs. This attempt was simply to get a working prototype and took many (many) hours of cutting, sanding, painting, gluing, soldering...etc. I wasn't totally satisfied with the design, and it looked 'hand-made' which wasn't the look i was going for (the bracket broke on the hwy one day and the rear wheel ate it...so no pics!).That's right no pics, and i got tons of compliments on it to add insult to injury.
Now enter rapid prototyping, and the ability to create 'ready for market' plastics, similar and often referred to as 3d Printing from CAD (stl) files.
So my question is:
How can i make my design 'economical' ? I am getting quotes around $400(not even close to my budget), and that is just the housing(preliminary at that). I could really use some guidance since this is my first attempt at RPM.
Thanks,
RB
