This is gonna be a strange one...
I was thinking to myself. How would it feel like to loose one of your senses? Then i got thinking, which one is the worst to loose? And when i thought about, i figured everyone had their own list of which sense is most important to them, or in the pessimestic appraoch, a list of which they would be most upset if they lost.
So what sense is the most important to you? (make a list!)
1. Hearing
2. Smell
3. Taste
4. Touch
5. Sight
Smell and taste are pretty interchangeable though.
As a (shitty) musician, hearing is definitely the most important to me. Sight is a very close #2. The other 3 I could live w/o, no problem.
On a side note, I had an uncle who was a great chef. Graduated from CIA. Used to regularly do huge corporate catering functions for famous people, politicians, fortune 500 companies, etc. Couldn't taste or smell a thing.

If I really put some effort into it... I bet I could find an XTC song to fit every thread [laugh]
Sight because you can't ride blind.

Sight because you can't ride blind.
Exactly. There are times that I would be happy to lose my sense of smell [puke]
I don't really want to lose any senses, but for the sake of the exercise.
1. Hearing
2. Sight
3. Taste
4. Smell
5. Touch
6. Kinaesthesia
In order of importance, I'd go:
1. sight
2. touch
3. taste
4. smell
5. hearing (I don't have to be able to hear to tell people they are wrong, on the internets)
I'd be okay if I lost my fashion sense.

Can't ride without a sense of touch either...
The way I figure it, loosing the sense of smell and taste is much like a bad cold. I think I can live without them.
Loss of hearing would suck. But agian, I could manage.
Loosing sight would be devastating, but I hope I would be able to make the adjustment.
However, I can't imagine living without the sense of touch. Everything you do is reliant on it, walking, talking, eating etc.
1) Sight
2) Touch
3) Hearing
4) Taste
5) Smell
7. Proprioception (You have a sense they tells you where your limbs are at any given moment)
Ahhhh....makes sense now that I open the thread. I figured someone else had gotten married. [cheeky]
Well, partial hearing loss in my left ear, almost no feeling in my left lower leg. Hearing is VERY important and I can never get that back. Feeling in my leg? Eh, double edged sword. No pain, but I sometimes can't tell how hard I've bumped it and have caused some significant damage....
inmagine the only voice you could hear was your own.....the insanity!!!!
im numb in a few places. My right pinky, my left ankle, part of my forehead. no biggie. lol
For me: sight.
If that's your only sense, you can figure out the missing ones by watching others.

Now THAT is interesting. :o
