Those people are insane.
18 kids is make the beast with two backsin crazy and IMHO irresponsible. There are enough people crowding this planet do people really need to have that many children?
All the kids would have to have their names tattooed to their foreheads! [bang]
At this point does she even realize she's in labor? Or do the kids just fall out?

If I was the doctor, I wouldn't use stitches, I'd put in a zipper.

I think it'd be cool to have two baseball teams.

Do they own a grocery store? Feeding them must be a 20 hour a day ordeal! Do they have a schedule for showering!
The parents kind of remind me of an old person in a house filled with cats. I can see a few of the kids hiding in the basement for three weeks and no one knowing it.

This way she can store stuff in there when she's not pregnant; keys, money, a loaf of bread........etc..........
I'm sure at least a handful of people on here have seen "Idiocracy."
Maybe, just maybe, a family like this is our only hope of preventing that future.
Its one man and his wife. As "funny" as the situation is, it could be much, much worse.
They have a lot of kids. Okay. If 2/3 of those kids grow up and "make something of themselves," then the Duggars have given more to our future than I ever hope to.

Okay, I now find nothing wrong with 18 kids. Myabe we can all learn a lesson from these parents.
That movie was really scary!
Fecundity. It's actually interesting to see all that variety with resemblance. They must spend a lot of time comparing each other. Just think about all the different possible gene combinations...
And all the J names? ??? My mom has enough trouble remembering my name!

my mom is one of 17. catholic farm family, no donations from the church community like the Duggars and the all lived in a normal sized 4 bdr house. most of the food came from the farm and the older sibling would help with the younger. until the older kids started driving, they had one car, usually a full size chevy.
all of them have grown up to be respectable, successful (school teachers to bank CEO's) human beings. although the duggars seem a bit more 'churchy' than my family so i do not know about that.
also gramma had 17 natural births, no twins, no c-sections, so she wins. lol

A buddy of mine had a 23 year old man call him and say Hi Dad. Never knew!
The Duggars seem to be well off and stable, albeit horny people. I say if they can afford the kids, more power to them.

Yeah, that part kinda bugged me.
Its right up there with naming all of your kids "George."

If you consider conservative baptists to be stable, I guess... I don't
Really nothing special about tossing out your birth control and just going at it.
Hm a nice, seeminly loving home environment with what appears to be an ability to provide for every child they brought in this world, yeah thats terrible. [roll]
Curious as to your "preferred alternative," given all the kids?
How the heck do you pay for all that food?
It's 18 and derby. ;)
