I'm actually floored by even the concept that someone thinks Ducati's sound like shit, but apparently they do.
Check out the comments people made about this video:

Speechless..... [bang]
Some highlights from the comments:
"agree, they look hot but sound broken"
"yeah i do like the looks of the 1098 but they sound like shit"
"I'm agree with you ducatti sound shit and you all know it. Real street racer sound all the way. Ducatti is for the people who never heared something else"
"hahah exactly..
ok if u hear a ducati behind u your first gunna think oh thats a dirtbike or sometype of motorcycle besides a streetbike..Now if you hear a gsxr..then its gunna be ohhh SHIT A GSXR!!!! haha"
Is this a plug for your business or did you post the wrong video, because I didn't hear any of those comments.
It's kids arguing that don't ride, who cares. I had someone post on one of my videos "fill your tank dumbass" because it didn't start right away. They don't know what they are talking about.
I spent the last 10 minutes with my ear pressed against a nice fresh piece of dookie. I can confirm--once and for all--that Ducatis do not sound anything like shit.

Was it an
Italian dookie? Cuz that's key.
Reading threads on youtube is a complete waste of time. Especially on bike related stuff. Can you believe some of these people are breathing our oxygen?
As usual, XKCD has the answer

The post originally had the video embedded and not a link to the comments.
why are you so shocked?
everyone has different taste.
they do sound broken, lots of people say that about my 749. is that thing broken? yes the engine is about to blow and i drive off.
I'm not surprised. Those are usually the comments I hear when I start it up. "What's wrong with it?" "That doesn't sound good." But those comments are usually coming from hot chicks. And who needs hot chicks anyway? Am I right? Am I right?

My favorite. Becasue not one of us have EVER heard one of the big four running around town at 15k. Because all of us buy 10k+ bikes on impluse without looking at our other options. Because Ducatis are only purchased by those who want to look "exotic" and for no other reason.

After hearing the clutch rattle my neighbor said he thought the bike needed a valve adjustment.
I replied the bike had no valve springs.
Now with the termis I can't hear a thing he says

Finally, advice I can get behind. ;D
I read somewhere that the clutch rattle can be adjusted out, and that it wasn't exactly normal to rattle but that it didn't hurt it. I like the sound of a Duc without the clutch racket myself.

The clutch rattles as the plates start to wear, when the plates and basket are new they rattle less.

The original poster edited his post to show the comments. Originally it was just an embedded video without any comments. Just like he said here. (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=16649.msg291365#msg291365)
Funny...I've never had anyone say anything about the sound the engine or clutch makes ...they just back away and say .....Damn that sure sounds FAST ! Dolph

What does one have to do with the other?
When i 1st got into ducati's i wasn't to keen on the clutch rattle but after going to WDW 2007 and hearing the orchestra of ringing and rattles i saw the light and up on arrival back home fitted a DP gold P/plate and black open cover. It certainly gets the attention of morons in cars along with the sound of termi's which to my mind can only be a safety issue although i don't think plod approves.(loud cans save lives) [thumbsup]
If you worry about the opinion of every idiot who posts a message on you tube, soon nothing is worth having. One thing is for sure, in the last 10 years I have seen a change in the "average Ducati owner" More and more often, these "new owners" tend to be in one of two groups: 1 - The Elitist (Ducatis are the Ferraris of motorcycles. Ducatis are exotic machines and only the uber-cool, who would never ride Japanese trash, own them) or 2 - I have always loved Ducati's (at least 8 months now) They are so cool, how can I make it more like my friend's Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki? I am so embarassed when people ask what that noise is.
Riding a Ducati that doesn't have rattling clutch, is like dating a woman with no vagina.

Oddly enough I could care less what someone on the intarwebz say about, well, anything. I love the song of the Duc. I love the sound from the Termi's. The valve noise. Dry clutch clatter (really wish mine had one). It's one of the things that sets us apart.
I am Ducatista*, hear me rattle!
*I kinda hate that word but it works here.

A few months ago I pulled up the a Flat Track race. I was the only Ducati there let alone with a Dry Clutch.
I got there early so I was one of the first people but when I left I had a huge crowd of people gather around scratching there heads.
Its funny how that noise is so common to us but you pull up around people who that sound is foreign to always say... what the hell. Is that bike broken LOL.

The F*ckwits who made the comments haven't been to a track - nothing sounds better than a twin screaming by whether it is a Duc or a SV or a RC51. I get wood just thinking about it.
