I am completely in love with board track racing motorcycles of the 20's but as you know they are hard to come across and they are VERY expensive. So I went online in search of a modern day replica and this is all I found. I'd rather have one of these than a scooter any day.

frikkin awesome! I am getting one of those!!
Nice find. [thumbsup]
Love the bars. [thumbsup] I wonder what Duc he owns? The pudding bowl helmets are cool too.
I'll be saving up for one. The white tires are so bad but I think they would get dirty real soon even if you didn't ride it that often and stayed out of puddles. I just wish they went a tad faster.

Anything can be made to go "a tad faster" [evil]
Someone out there on the wrong coast needs to stop in for us.
WANT WANT WANT.
Those are pretty freaking cool....
Okay so I am not the only one who thinks they are awesome as hell.

iirc, he owns a mh900. he used to come out to our bike night pretty regularly.
Discovery or SpeedTV or one of those channels covered a bike show and did a segment on these, if I remember correctly.
They're pretty cool. I want one

Judging by your stable looks like you have a good idea of what "pretty make the beast with two backsing cool" is! [bow_down]
Holy Crap that's übercool.
Want.
Custom matching helmet too!
$3500 is cheaper than my DH bike.
Very. Fricken. Cool.
If I ever, or when I get one I am going to get a spare set of wheels w/ white tires. ;). My room has wooden flooring which is very reminiscent of a board track!
It would be so cool if it said "Cucciolo" on the tank and motor instead of "Derringer", but it still totally rocks.
Cool find!
Nice link. Unusual also. Unusual in several ways - the nitch market idea, custom nice looking work, he seems down to earth, and the business plan seems like it can be a success.

These guys also make board trackers:
http://www.solanocountychoppers.com/xcelsior.html (http://www.solanocountychoppers.com/xcelsior.html)
Price is about the same - $3500ish. They register as mopeds.
Interesting, I don't know, but for some reason the Derringer seems to have nicer styling IMHO.
It might be a bit more economical to build one yourself:
http://www.zone8cycling.com/Bicycle-Gas-Engine-Kit-80cc-c8/ (http://www.zone8cycling.com/Bicycle-Gas-Engine-Kit-80cc-c8/) $140 for the complete engine kits. Leaving you $3,360 for a bicycle with clubman bars and a cafe tank.
You can get a Schwinn with the cantilever front end brand new at Wal-Mart for $150, or use one of their nice bikes like this one http://www.schwinnbike.com/usa/eng/Products/Cruisers/Details/1201-S9CLA7D-Classic-Seven-Deluxe (http://www.schwinnbike.com/usa/eng/Products/Cruisers/Details/1201-S9CLA7D-Classic-Seven-Deluxe).
Or you can even buy the whole deal ready to go for 1/10 of the price:http://cgi.ebay.com/Schwinn-Cruiser-Bicycle-with-motor-Moped_W0QQitemZ270316350112QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item270316350112&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Schwinn-Cruiser-Bicycle-with-motor-Moped_W0QQitemZ270316350112QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item270316350112&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)
BTW, I am NOT affiliated with or selling any of these.
Well, good idea, but I doubt I could get it to look that nice/professional. Anybody know where he gets the gas tank and the frame from?

Cool.
Go to 2:10 in the video. That dangling centerstand looks um... :o
Found another one of these. Not quite as naked as the Derringer but cheaper still.

Nicky is lucky! Perks of being a racer I guess.
