Oh the irony... I pulled on Stemmons right behind them just before Inwood. A young woman on a red GT1000, a guy on a PS (obvious good taste in bikes), & another lady on a new Monster... Helmets, but T-shirts & jeans. They turned off at Market Center heading for AMS. I was appalled at the seemingly total disregard for the bikes by the cages. They were having to ride very defensively. There were 4 or 5 dangerous lane changes & 1 guy tailgating, & all that in a coupla miles :( Please be careful out there... There were 4 or 5 dangerous lane changes & 1 guy tailgating, & all that in a coupla miles :( Please be careful out there... I have to change my attitude when riding, I am used to people driving like idiots but at least they know they are doing it, when you pull along side then they acknowledge their mistake. Here they have no idea, they can cut across 3 lanes causing all sorts of mayhem, if you pull along side they look at you and ask politely if there is a problem, if you manage to explain what happened you get the "really" are you sure it happened like that look. It was red, but not Red, if you get my drift. Rider was adequately geared for a morning commute, and may have been headed for the GB onramp after the light. I only realized I had a Duc sighting at the last minute, and was two lanes to the right with traffic between us in my white '99 VehiCross, turning SB on Josey to take my son to his summer program, or I would have exchanged greetings. Carrollton needs more Ducatisti!

Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: RED on March 18, 2010, 03:20:51 AM Ok, who is the mystery rider? As previously in this thread with Mr. McKraut we discussed Ducs in Downtown Dallas. Besides us two I have heard but not seen until today the noise maker coming through downtown at 8am on clear mornings. Today I finally got to see him. What seems to be a dark monster with Ohlins with blacked out cans and oddly, blacked out exhaust tips. The tank was definately flat black. The rider had on black leather jacket and black helmet and gloves. This guy must be an avid rider to ride this morning. He's somewhat of a hot shoe though. As the light turned at Ervay going down Elm St. eastwards he punched it and got the hole shot from a standing start next to (as in sharing) a car in the left lane and flew down Elm St. Anybody know this bike?

Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: MM620ie on March 29, 2010, 10:51:27 AM saw three different Ducs on Lemmon near Throckmorton yesterday, within 30 minutes. 2 696 (one black with termis and one white) and what i think was a red 999 with what sounded like termis... i was a ways away and didn't get to see much of it with traffic. and i was selling a motorcycle stand last week and the guy buying happened to have a yellow monster 620. lots of duc riders around here that either aren't aware or don't feel like posting up. that was my 620. I have been lurking around for a while and just happened on this post. I guess since I have been outed and fess-up. I have a yellow 04 620. bought it in November of last year. I live over near whiterock lake. while I am at it, I saw a 695 red frame, black or drak gray tank and such on Mockingbird at 75. Its a 98 900, built VeeTwo heads, FCR39s on velocity stacks only, termi titanium full system, dp monoposto rearsets (same as RedRacing's and Style&Performance, very similar to the AG Hammer rearsets I used to have) lots of powdercoating, custom tank paint (white with tricolore red/green accent stripes). Looks cherry. A few mileage wear marks here and there, and thats it. Tires are certainly toast though, awesome amount of balled up rubber around the edges - certainly had some fun on the track. Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: Jester on March 11, 2011, 10:51:38 PM Must have been going so fast the G forces just vaporized him. ;D Joking aside, I hope the rider is OK. Probably some douche trying to stand on his gas tank in the middle of traffic, giving the rest of us bad names. I may be wrong, but I'm probably right. I'm sure he stumbled off, the bike kept going and he ran for his life so he wouldn't be jailed. That's my interpretation and I'm sticking to it. Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: muskrat on March 12, 2011, 11:14:28 AM Did they find the guy?
Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: fastwin on March 12, 2011, 11:28:03 AM I'm thinking Jester is on to something. I had similar thoughts... or maybe he/she was drunk and fell off. No follow up info that I know of. Still a mystery. ???
Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: Cher on March 12, 2011, 04:37:34 PM There was something in the Dallas Morning News or WFAA about authorities finding a helmet and wrist watch back up the road from where the bike was spotted. Dumb shit(s) Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: TXGrillGuy on March 12, 2011, 09:44:51 PM I've not seen nor heard a follow-up to this story yet either. Hmmm....

By the time I turned around and caught up to them they were on 78 headed West. I didn't feel like chasing them all over so I turned back. If you guys ride out this way often I wouldn't mind riding with you. Nice bikes!

We will do 697 again your way soon and eat at the barbecue place again. (edit) we would have stopped for you but Mhanis has been a real dick lately so be thankful they didn't stop and you didn't incur his wrath. [evil] Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: lilmonster on July 16, 2011, 12:22:59 PM That's cool. FYI I went to the Kart Track in Caddo Mills yesterday afternoon. Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: CajunR on July 16, 2011, 03:58:54 PM +1... I'd love to know, as well. My wife used to work in that area, and it's kind of... hmmm, trying to find a politically correct way of saying 'stink hole'.
Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: lilmonster on July 16, 2011, 04:48:39 PM It is worth it. The karts are not shifter karts but they are pretty fast, handle and brake well, also are much better than the karts at Speedzone. You probably will not find the accelleration impressive compared to a bike. I think you can rent the shifter karts but they more expensive. It is a nice facility, everything is pretty much new.

I do get up that way a bit, were you on a black Monster? I thought I saw one but IIRC we were just coming out of a corner and I was paying attention to the road! Maybe it will be there when I leave today- not likely as I always seem to be the last bike left. Working for the man...

Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: Ronr on November 29, 2011, 08:19:06 PM I too have been the recipient of a random middle digit. I was just sitting there on my Duc at a red light at a large intersection, minding my own business. Two highly intelligent individuals in a pickup truck went by at about 50 mph. They had very little time to even see me sitting there at the light, but the passenger apparently had a direct connection between his eyes and his finger because he had already used it on me before they cleared the intersection. I laughed.
Some things aren't meant to be understood. Title: Re: The Official: DFW Duc Sighting Thread Post by: TresGatos on December 18, 2011, 07:52:11 PM Not a Duc, but at the moto riding class at VV mall, a nice Aprilla 1000. [thumbsup]
