Traditional English Christmas

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean it was very cold and lonely. It was so far from land that not even a single Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick for Mac and PC could be found. Christmas was three days away. Quietly, a submarine floated just below the waterline. The periscope looked out into the wide open sky.

“Hullo, periscope!” said the friendly dolphin, poking her head from beneath the waves. “Knew you'd be here!”

“How's your crew today, periscope?” the dolphin asked politely.

“Fine, I suppose,” replied the periscope in his gruff Naval manner. “They've been busy today, getting ready for the holidays and all. Haven't even bothered to lower me! Still, it's nice to see the world for a while before we all head back home.”

“Home?” asked the dolphin with noticeable surprise.

“Aye, lass.” said the periscope evenly. “We'll be headed back soon. Probably won't be in this part of the ocean for quite some time.”

“But periscope!” cried the dolphin, her voice troubled. “You can't leave! I've ordered you a present!”

“A present?” answered the periscope in shock and amazement. “Why, lass! What is it?”

“I can't, lassie,” said the periscope truthfully. “I took an oath to serve the greater good… no matter what the sacrifice.”

“I… I suppose I understand, periscope,” the dolphin nodded sadly. “But I wanted to get you something special. And I chose the Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick for Mac and PC because I know you like to watch things. So maybe… while we still have time…”

Then periscope looked on in amazement as the dolphin rolled on her side, her moist, frictionless skin pressing against the edge of his conning tower. Slowly she moved her flipper as she began to- what?

Listen, I was promised total creative freedom with this Christmas story. No, it's a perfectly valid form of expression. May I refer you to the recent work of Alan Moore and his examination of how the fairy tale can be- No, it's not even slightly obscene! It's a beautiful- I don't care about what they ruled in Australia! Why does that even matter?

Hey, you can think whatever you want, but I'm pretty sure the people who designed the Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick for Mac and PC are going to be pretty happy with- libel? Why would they do that? Listen, Alan Moore makes a clear case that the artist must be free at all times to- okay, you know what? If you do this, I'm not going to let you have any merchandising rights. Yeah, no dolphin dolls, no periscope pocket watches, no Atlantic Ocean placemats, none of it.

You think you don't care now, maybe, but what about a decade from now when this story becomes a cult classic? I think our CEO might want to know just how short sighted you are. What? How dare you! How dare you say that about my work of genius? I'll have you know that- No, I am not leaving. I most certainly am not. I don't care how big he is, I'm not- Hey, put me down right now! You're a band of thugs! Criminals! Worse than Thatcher! I don't have to stand for this! You'll regret what you've done today! Save me, Glycon, save me!
