:'( They need to be all rescued! Such an unstable building would be quite the task...
WOW! some one bought that for 50K I wonder how many bikes they saved? you can see a couple of BSA's and the trail 70 cool stuff 8)
that makes me sad :'(
Did anyone scroll down and see the dancing blonde? Uh, mesmerizing. Oh yeah, the bikes are cool too. Too bad about their inevitable doom when the building collapses though. Sure wish I could rescue and restore/ride a few. Ah, to dream. Now back to that blonde . . .

There were bikes in that topic?!?! :o
The rest of that forum seems upset that we are there...
After further review, I now have great respect for the tensile strength of whatever material is restraining her "Termis", if you know what I mean. I also now have a laundry problem . . .
Good grief. Y'all act like you've never seen an avatar of wobbling silicone before. [coffee]
Someone ought to call Jay Leno. Really.

I just looked at the pics again on their forum and the thread has almost 9300 views already. I bet it will make it's way to Jay before too long.

you are completely mistaken, those are not silicone by any means.
These used to belong to Walter Kohl, a guy who ran a small little shop in Buffalo NY's suburbs.
Shame they are all going to rot.
I think a little trip to Lockport is in order. About 4 hr trip west on the Thruway for me.
that is a true crime...
wish i had the time/$ to rescue the bikes. could probably recoup costs by selling vintage stuff for restoration

Only a half hour from B and I.
But we're more interested in the building than the bikes. :-\

You buy the building and I will happily clear it out for you. For free!

Beat me to it!
Sad to see such a place go to waste.
These bikes/parts are now up for auction!!!
See here (http://www.jwoodandcompany.com/2009/jack_dash/jack_dash.htm)
I wish I knew how the market was going to go. If there is something decent that would be within my budget, I'd make the trip up for this. It's only 4 hours away.
Rumor has it that most of the bikes are Ducati's waiting for parts to finish the repairs ;)

The internet is pretty amazing. Some kid on a rainbow 6 forum posts up about this place and before you know it the guy that owns it is gonna have motorcycle buffs from all over the country driving to his doorstep to look at these bikes.
It's a real shame the building is in such bad shape ruining all those bikes. :'( Hopefully a huge chunk of em find new homes. I bet the guy that originally collected them rolled over in his grave every time the floor caved in taking down 20-30 bikes. :o
Sooo who is gonna go find out if there some ducs over there? [moto]
B and I are going to the viewing on Thurs. before the auction, friday.
There is a pretty extensive list of whole (wholeish) bikes on the auctioneers site.
See here http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=27450.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=27450.0) for some picts and link to auction site.
Does not appear to be any ducs. :(
Holy Cantaloupes and Watermelons............oh the bikes.
So very sad.
There is a truly beautiful early 1800s Victorian, brick, home located on a farm and in this house are Tapestries that I saw when I was 16 , 44 years ago,
I know those Tapestries are worth a small fortune and all the antique furniture I saw when I was in the long ago vacant property at age 16.
I don't know what it is about people that have valuable things and won't sell them when offered, but will let them sit and rot away to nothing.
Dolph
I want that Harley XR750 street bike. Bad. If someone local can check it out for me it would be way cool....
I'd love to pick up a Norton or Triumph 80% completed as a dabbler project. I don't think I could handle a full rebuild. If only this happened in May instead of August when I was more cash flush. Oh well.
I wonder what was paid for the lot?
It is an Estate liquidation....
No $$ has changed hands yet.
Auctioneers website mentions 2 Ducati 750 round case GT's.
Anyone want to bid for me? [evil]
I may have to go after all! [evil]
