Title: Carbon fairing supports
Post by: Statler on December 29, 2008, 01:42:19 PM
There used to be one name in town for the floppy fairing fix.  Now there's another option.

These are from Matrix Motorsports (one of our sponsors).

Easy to install and look great.   Haven't tested them at speed yet (it's cold out), but I promise to report back on fairing flop or lack thereof at speed on down the straight of VIR come Spring.

Those are Cycle Cat clip-ons.
Not sure which triple that is.

Can you post a pic of the lower mounts?

The triple is a Speedymoto.  IIRC, Statler has the sweet-ass, full Speedymoto top/bottom.  IT's the one with the big ole burly lower.   [thumbsup]

Actually, I was hopin' for pics of the lower mount of the fairing support, where it bolts on to the headlight bracket (?).

Pic of lower triple wouldn't be bad.  :)

ah...gotcha.   I took one but it's IZ quality so I'll go take more.

It's pretty clever...on the fairing bracket you just turn the bolt around to face out and get rid of the nut.   The stock bolt threads into their anodized piece..there's an anodized spacer included (which you can see in the one pic).     Same at the top...you toss the rubber coated nut, put their rubber grommet in the screen, and thread the stock bolt into their nice aluminum piece that holds the carbon pole.

The top and bottom aluminum pieces are identical except for the thread end as they are sized to fit the stock windscreen bolts at top and fairing bracket bolts at bottom.

I installed these recently too and can report that not only do they look fantastic, they are rock solid at speed.  All the way up to 160MPH indicated. [thumbsup]  Well worth the 60 bucks for the look as well as the function.

They look mighty fine, geoffduc.

I'm not getting a pair myself, but I'll post up if I get my hands on a set.
