We're convinced the Bugatti Veyron has to have the highest ratio of variants per total production -- Ford Mustang included. There's the Sang Noir, a first and second version of the Hermes, Pur Sang, Grand Sport, and now the Vincero built by Mansory. Not much is known about the car since no information is listed on the tuner's web site, but United Arab Emirates exotic car dealer Prestige Cars has posted the car for sale, listing it as one of three built. Looking at the photos, the Vincero features a carbon fiber hood and engine cover, new black wheels, and an interior that has been reupholstered in black and white with carbon fiber trim. It's not everyone's taste, but we definitely wouldn't kick it out of the garage.

Who is "we"?
love it!!
I don't know. The car is obviously bad ass but it has chrome fenders and doors. Not sold on that part of it. :-\

Do we know for sure that's chrome?
They might be made of pure platinum.

I think that's just the lighting/reflections.
From that pic, I think the car's just black.
Yeah, where do you see that it's chrome? I'm pretty sure it's not, why would they put chrome on it?
You guys need to look closer...

OK, two things.
1. Where were we supposed to see those other pics, we were going off the one posted
2. It still doesn't look like chrome to me, highly polished aluminum probably.
me like
That could be paint, nickel plating, aluminum, who knows..
It'd be nice to see a pic of that car outdoors.
That showroom or wherever that car is at... sux for pics.
A tear rolled down my cheek and I changed my shorts when he hit top speed...

I didn't see the other pics until right before I posted them. You guys had me doubting my original assessment so I found some other photos for reference. ;)
Aluminum is a definite possibility. Maybe even like the paint on Mclaren's 08 F1 cars? (not sure if it's quite that reflective though)

Saw it when it aired but it was nice to watch again! [thumbsup]
Damnit! There should be a warning to go along with threads like this. Now I have to go change my pants yet again today.
;D
Fack!
I was holding my breath when he was at 406km/h till he hit 407.

Being that we're talking about a museum piece here, that CF hood looks a bit gappy where it meets the fenders. Particularly in the top photo. I dunno if that kind of slop is supposed to be acceptable to the Arab crowd or what.
there is another of that car on display at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg which is one of the main plants for VW in Germany!
and I think if I recall the article describing the car, those are hand rolled aluminum fenders.

Captain Slow my ass. That took some balls. And to narrate coherently the entire time ("the engine is sucking in more air in a minute than I do in 4 days!). Its a testament to the car that a relative novice could achieve that speed with little drama.
Aesthetically, I'm not a big fan, but the car is on another level in terms of engineering and style. There are a whole slew of kit-car looking ultracars that can put up similar numbers, but none of them will ever do it with as much class as the Veyron. I hope VW doesn't kill the brand; they take a huge loss on every Veyron they make and there has been some discussion about trimming fat from the VW family. Then again, there are also some rumors of an "entry-level" Bugati. Given the direction environmental regs are going, its going to be very hard to build cars like this in the future. The Veyron may represent the pinnacle of the petrol-based auto.
It doesn't really look like aluminum on the fenders. Metals keep their basic coloration, no matter the surface configuration. Polished aluminum has a much lighter appearance than say steel, ti, or any other structurally used metals. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a quality paint finish, or even some sort of mildly transparent finish over a metal frame.
Ehh. Who gives a shit what it's made of. Very little is justifiable for that price but that is one gorgeous car and surely a feat of modern engineering and design.

That's my guess...

the article clearly states the body and what it is made of...
Quote...Aluminum
The parts made of aluminum show the meticulousness and will to perfection the designers of Bugatti pursued in their work. And this doesn't just apply to the body. The reason for this is that aluminum is normally a recycled product, resulting in a variety of impurities in the alloys. This has no effect on the characteristics of the material, but on its appearance. After polishing and anodizing the aluminum there can be different degrees of gloss. Not so on the inside of the Veyron, where aluminum is used with the material corresponding to the body shell: If you look closely, you can see that there are no differences in gloss here. Because a single, special alloy is used exclusively in the Veyron: AlMgSi 0.3 Vitral 42. No work is done with other alloys....

+1
The car is certainly impressive, though I'm not sure I'd want to own one. I mean, without a 5 mile long private runway or a slightly banked 60 mile private oval of asphalt to even attempt to hit the top speed, owning a Veyron would be sort of like being married to Sophie Marceau and not being able to have sex with her.
But therein lies the exact point. If you can afford a Veyron, then more than likely you an afford your own private 5 mile airstrip. ;D
