Longer spot at the top of the news as well as long spot in sports.

Well, what happened?

Couldn't get a winning team. 15 years is still a long time in control.

People get shot everyday. Football coaches are only fired at that special time of year.

It's sad, but it's America. I'm guessing more people listened intently to the Shanahan story as well.

the newspaper would have put it's own money shot on the cover had Shanahan been shot

personally, i approve of the priority. two reasons

1) i despise shanahan
2) i hate hearing about stuff like the shooting mentioned by the OP

truth is, it sounds like a win / win for the media. both stories will appeal to the majority of the public,.......sad as that is.
