Title: Better Pic Post
Post by: DuciD03 on May 12, 2008, 02:10:04 PM
Thanks for the welcome incredable bike girl .... lol, you must be the welcome comittee....

So where is your bike pic posted? and where would I find the members bike picture post?

If I could comment on picture posting in general; the old DML picture post was not so good.

It was very slow and ackward to flip quickly through pics, you could't fast  forward.  I was quite intrested to see others bikes with modifications.

ummm; right; a "gallery" might be another description in less words.

There is no plan for a DMF gallery in the near future.

There are so many good, free, 3rd party hosting sites now, it is redundant and only slows the forum down and increases server size requirements.

The DML gallery causes a lot of problems for the DML of disc space, bandwidth required, and broken pic addresses when hardware changed.

i don't think there was ever an issue with the gallery because it was on another partition.

attachments, on the other hand, were what caused the big issues.

AFAIK, the first gallery didn't cooperate very well with YaBB.
The second gallery, Coppermine, didn't cooperate very well with SMF.
MMoore wasn't very happy with either, I think he could provide the gruesome details for both.

It is a bandwidth issue, tho.

Actually, I believe the OP was referring to the "Bikes of the DML" thread.  It always took a long time to load because people didn't bother to resize their images before posting links to them.
