For many a year, when friends or family would ask... "what do you want for Christmas?"
my standard response was ... cookie monster slippers.
I'm not sure why I chose CMS as my response....heck, back when I started telling people (mostly my two kids), that CMS would be the ideal gift, I didn't really wear slippers.
I'm guess'n this all started about 20 years ago, and in that time... not once was I privy to opening a box filled with warm IZ_ blue happiness.
They made my size.... they're cheap..... it should be a no brainer. But nope... no CMS.
Then...... last year (ok...last last year)... lm and the boys ask me what I want for Christmas.
Cookie Monster Slippers.
ha ha....serious... what do you want?
I don't need anything, but if ya have to get me something... make it Cookie Monster slippers.
Apparently CMS cause global warming or something, cuz they don't make them anymore. (at least not in big people sizes)
I heard almost daily (back then), that I was SOL on my gift choice. lm had scoured the planet in search of them, with no luck to be had.
Years of being denied IZ_ blue happiness, had hardened me to the point where hearing that I'd go another year without.... was like hearing Britney Spears is making a new cd. so, what else is new.
Cut to Christmas morning 07.
Gifts are opened. Kids get toys..... adults get practical stuff. (what can I say, we're both frugal)
Then..... I'm handed my stocking (the one that was hung by the chimney with care)
In it....... blue slippers, pieces of tan, black and white felt, and four big plastic googly eyes. All the stuff required to make my very own custom Cookie Monster Slippers.
My wife gets me. She has taken the time to get me, and trust me...that's no easy task.
I write this, because today I......
got so see my son for the first time since lm and I were married....
woke up next to the most beautiful human I know,
goofed around with all my online friends....
and I did it all wearing IZ_ blue happiness.
Life....cannot get any better

I never assembled them into Cookie Monster form.
I just wear them as plain old IZ_ blue slippers [laugh]
