i am going to order some brake/clutch levers today or tomorrow.

do you guys recommend the pazzos or some cgr roll-a-click levers?

if you guys have some pics to compare the two that would be great too...

I've got Pazzo shorties and I like them. Here's a couple pics:

I have them on the setting that allows them to be as close as possible to the bar. I have itty bitty hands.

Mine are CRG normal length, "titanium" finish

I found this link very helpful ESPECIALLY THE LAST PART ON ADJUSTING PROPERLY  I now have "immediate" action which allow me to adjust the levers closer to the bar, which result in a firmer/more controlable grip on the levers.     http://www.ducatisuite.com/leverchange.html

Another vote for pazzos.

They are basically clones of one another.  (No, I don't know which came first....)  You aren't likely to tell a difference without trying very hard.  Get whichever comes in the color you want for the least money.

AFAIK the CRGs came first but there really isn't all that much difference between them.  The Pazzos have a more jeweled like finish on the top and bottom of the lever where the CRGs don't.  The Pazzos are also available in many more colour combos (both lever and adjuster) where the CRGs are only available with red adjusters.

Not sure about that.  The CRGs on my Sport1000 have the clutch switch on them.  I think they might have revised their design a little while ago.

Yes.  There was (may still be) an issue that the CRG levers didn't have a tab to activate the switches on the bar.  People remedied this by making ones out of sheet metal.  But CRG might have updated their design now, to incorporate that.

And just for the record - CRG was 1st, and Pazzo basically cloned the CRG design.  Some people gave them guff for it.. but as far as 'knock offs' go, they are quality levers... I've got a set.

i have used crg and seen the pazzo's both are about the same (I preferred the feel/shape of the crgs).  that being said my next pair will be ASVs.

the CRG's have the tab now, the part # for the new ones is AB-611

now what are the main differences between the shorty and regular length? i know they are 1 1/4" shorter but why d people get short vs. long? besides the looks?

I got the shorties cause my hand only needs that much length.

there is no better between the two simply preference and riding habit.

I liked the shortys because I tend to pull the levers with only 2 or 3 fingers.  with regular length that can lead to an occasional pinched finger. 

Usually I would say go with the shorties, but that is just my personal preference (based on appearances alone).  I would say however to get the standard length if your bike has a dry clutch simply because that extra bit of leverage becomes really nice after fifteen minutes of town traffic.

I went with CRGs.  A full length clutch lever for traffic comfort and a shorty brake lever as I tend to only use 3 fingers for the brakes.  I found the ASV's to be very nice but too short in the shorty version.  I could only comfortably get two fingers on the levers and I prefer three.

If I did it again I'd do reg clutch and shorty brake. 

I've been using the gold Pazzo shorty brake and reg. clutch for over 10,000 mi. and love em. [thumbsup]  They have a better feel than stock.

Two fingers is definitely all you need on the brakes.

regarding ASV levers for Ducati 696, i contacted ASV & i talked to the owner of, Robert Morales, and he told me the 696 uses the same levers as the 695. Part numbers are BRC552- and CRC552.

that being said i still think i am going with either the crg's or the pazzos.

i'm leaning more towards the pazzos because i like the color combinations they offer. i don't like the silver perch block on the crg's

Pazzo's are great.  I have the short brake and reg. clutch and love them.  They are a little cheaper than the CRG's also.  Super easy install.  Not sure what your color combo is, but just a heads up - the gold is a little darker then most of the other gold bits I have (Rizoma grips, coffin covers, etc)  I have black levers with gold adjusters so it isn't that big of a deal, but if you would happen to get the gold levers, the difference would be pretty obvious.

I have the sorty CRG's mostly because we did a group buy and got them for relatively cheap. Love them.

I've fitted standard Pazzo's on both my bikes simply because being one finger down on my left hand the greater leverage on the clutch plus after market slave make it more relaxing especially when in traffic. The quality of the pazzo levers is 1st class and the colour combinations are spot on  [thumbsup]
