If they're cut down there's a strong chance that they've been cored. If they haven't been cored, I'm sure it can still be done. If you're set on changing to an aftermarket exhaust, there are tons to choose from. I just checked the old board, and I'm pretty sure yours were done the same way I did the ones Bryant gave me except I only cut off less than 3". The ST series bike's (at least the older ones) exhaust swivel up a couple of inches to allow you to raise the exhaust when the bags are off. To do this, the ST exhaust cans connect to the rest of the header/connector in a different way from how Monster exhausts.
