So I'd thought that we need a new thread for our social gatherings for the new year.

Melvin, many thanks for starting these events, it's always an entertaining evening.

For those who have not attended:

We park on the footpath in front of the civic video store, and you'll find us on the outside tables doing the alfresco thing. We're usually done by around 10ish..

I've got some video, I'll try and up it to youtube later this arvo. The Desmocedici sounds like no other bike in the paddock.. It is the angriest thing on two wheels I've ever heard and it consistently bought a smile to the dial of the crowd every time it started.

Vertical cylinder plug was heavily fowled. It happens after about 500K's and only on that cylinder. Im sure that the rings are a little tired on that piston...

or Single Origin if you're in Surry Hills - It's on reservoir street, 1st block or so up from elizabeth street.

Coffee is certainly up there with Mecca, and good food as well..

Having said this, there's bound to be a dmf gathering at mecca on sat from around 10ish for a couple of hours (read: I need beans, big is always there, melvin is bound to pop in, Zee will be there if he's in the country etc etc etc etc)

Depends what you're looking for Brimo if you wanna see Duc's then Frasers Concord is your bet.
If you wanna see cool cafe racers then as Super suggested Deus on Parramatta Road Camperdown.
There is also Aprilla/MV on William Street Sydney.

So basically no there ain't a great central place unless you head out to Parramatta, where you have Action
which is all Jap bikes and Bike Biz over the road for other Jap's and Triumph.

I Fratellini Brothers t  - a little hole in the wall panini place on via dei cimatori, 38 red - in between the duomo and the piazza della signora - for a couple of euro you get a panini and a glass of wine. you need to place the glass on a rack on the side of the wall when you're done.

It'' be in the lonely planet, and is literally two brothers making awesome panini

One of which had a window display with a little D16RR and some 1000 euro Ducati branded watches.

Found out later a Harley guy we were travelling with tried to buy us the model ... but they wouldn't sell.

just to be clear (and perhaps add to this threads confusion)

- the arancini is acceptable at Bar Italia.
- in fact, Bar Italia is both convenient and acceptable. it's not particularly special, but (for me at least) has some historical undercurrents...
- the ricotta canoli is better than acceptable, but still shy of special.
- the latest fad is to chat at bar italia, then head to gelatomassi in newtown for serious gelato - this is now what I do every time as the bronster now insists that her gelato is sourced from this fine establishment.

before heading to meet I-scream at the Golden Mile (King St) for Gelato.

Seriously thinking about heading down if I can get away from the office at a reasonable hour... What time is too late?

You'll usually find us there until 10 or so and if not we might well have popped over to King St
Gelatissmo for a spot of Gelato.

It was great to meet you all, put some faces to names and get my first real intro to the world of OzMo.
