for those who have been aware of my bad luck streak...
I just got hit with 2 parking tickets. I was about 6 inches on the wrong side of a fire zone sign. I thought i could get away with it being there for 5 mins as i ran upstairs to hand in some paper work. And i got hit with Missing plate. A cop wrote the ticket and he knew exactly where the VIN was and exactly what brand it was. either way, it was my wrong, but god damn, 5 mins i all it takes. Last time it was less than 2-3 mins. [bang]
Most cops know where the VIN is.
And does your bike still say "DUCATI" on the tank?

nope. The only place that says ducati is on the right side engine case. I dude knew it was a Monster when he was telling me how they treat biks in nyc. It pretty much went like... "we throw it on a flat bed and it wont ever run right again".
Most cops do know where the vin is. But most traffic cops here dont. Well, they probably do, but they are too damn lazy to look for it.
Let's not make the focus of this thread cops.

yes, let's make it about guys that keep parking in places they admittedly know they shouldn't. ;D
That is an unfortunate run of luck. Hope it turns the other way for ya. [thumbsup]
it's raining shit on you, man. Sorry to hear about your continued run of bad luck. Maybe all of us sports fans could have you bet against our teams? [bacon]

Righteous.
So the bike in question did not have a plate?
In my city, your front wheel must be in line with the sign post, but the bumper can extend beyond it. Same goes for bikes (half of the front wheel can extend beyond the sign). Not so in NYC, I gander?
[kanye west] New York City doesn't care about motorcycle people. [/kanye west]
Remember your removable plate thread...

So now someone can easily steal your plate? Doesn't seem like a great idea to me.
As for the parking they can easily check your vin and give you a ticket.
and then...

Well, I was gonna Timmy Tucker y'all and leave you hanging for a while but decided against it.
So it goes like this. Apparently my new wife, we have been married for 6 months now, has had quite a few traffic tickets in her past. I'm not entirely sure how this works so I'll just explain it how it was explained to me. She has been paying the tickets off quarterly as thats the agreement she has with the DMV or whoever. This past October she "forgot" to pay and her license was suspended. No warrents or anything like that, just a suspended license. Now I love my wife very much and we are very happy together, but the amount that she forgot to pay was 40 bucks. So $40 is what caused her license to be suspended. Anyways, she was on her way back to work yesterday after having lunch with her sister and was pulled over for speeding 10 over in a 60. The officer that pulled her over was apparently a rookie and was following the book to a T and arrested her. She called me crying hysterically to let me know what was going on and that her sister was on her way to pick up the car so it wouldn't be impounded. Then her sister called me and told me to stay at work because she would handle everything as there wasn't much I could do at this point. I called my brother who used to work as a bail bonds man and between the two of them they arranged the $2000 bond and got her out of jail at 8 pm last night. I went and picked her up from her sisters promptly thereafter and brought her home. Now we have to take care of all the legal stuff. Think I may need to get a lawyer in on this one.

Geared up, packed all my stuff to hit the Muay Thai gym and i just spent the hour i was gonna take to get tehre warm up, looking for my keys. Ive looked everywhere. i am 95% sure i left it on my drafting table as i have been doing for the past 6+ months. Now its no longer there. and to boot, the bike came with only 1 black key. no spares (yes i have the red, and the only black key in town cost $100)
And when i mean everywhere. i ment i looked in the trash, inside a pot of rice, in the oven, in the washing machine, in the mailbox, in the garage, on the bike. etc.
It will be in the last place you look, so look there. [thumbsup]
