Title: Arrows question Post by: NWapex on January 07, 2009, 01:58:17 PM I have been torn between the termis and the Arrows for my 696. Does anyone know if you have to take the bike to the dealer after installing the Arrows to either reset the ECU or make adjustments to the TPS?

Does anyone know if you have to take the bike to the dealer after installing the Arrows to either reset the ECU or make adjustments to the TPS? I've written a couple of things about this, but the ECU doesn't need to have the TPS reset and there is no fueling adjustment available as it is a closed loop system so the O2 sensor adjusts. Here is much more info on the 696 FI system that I posted recently. http://www.desmoforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=74 (http://www.desmoforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=74) Title: Re: Arrows question Post by: desmoworks on January 07, 2009, 02:48:28 PM Oh, and I sell both Termi and Arrow (as well as ZARD if you need another option to check out) - so if you need any help let me know. ;D

Title: Re: Arrows question Post by: desmoworks on January 08, 2009, 12:00:47 AM I haven't had a chance to test them back to back nor have I seen where anyone else has so I'm not really sure. I can't imagine much of a difference though- they are all very similar.

I just bought a 696 that the previous owner had Termi's on and the DP ECU. He took them off to sell them separately and put the stock ECU and pipes back on. Do I need to do a manual TPS reset? How do you do it? Title: Re: Arrows question Post by: danaid on January 26, 2009, 11:49:33 PM Thanks for the reply! Do you know if there are any performance differences between the Termis, Arrows, or Zards? I have the termignoni system installed. If I had to do it again, I would get slip-ons and save some money for other modifications. The awesome sound of an open exhaust and weight savings after removing the heavy stock exhausts, are the main improvements I have noticed with my system which could be had with a set of slip-ons. Sorry but much more power can't be expected from the little 696. I personally like the design of the arrows. Their exhaust systems for other monsters sound awesome and look way cool! They would be my first choice. my .02 Title: Re: Arrows question Post by: danaid on January 27, 2009, 12:07:23 AM I take back what I wrote chooseing the arrows, I just looked up the price at desmoworks and they are way to pricey. you get a better deal getting the stainless termignoni system or spending a few hundred bucks more for the carbon termignoni system. I stand corrected.

Since i have the ECU already and just want the CF slip on... Thanks Title: Re: Arrows question Post by: DucNrun on January 27, 2009, 01:33:41 PM Buy the whole kit and sell the ECU. How do you do it? Cycle your ignition on and off 3 times in a row without touching the throttle or fast idle and it will reset the TPS. Also it will reset on its own over time anyway as long as you don't give it throttle or fast idle to start it. Is it running poorly? Since i have the ECU already and just want the CF slip on... Thanks Usually you can buy just the silencers individually - but when I look at the break down of the kit it doesn't show them - just the ECU on its own ($1299 retail!) and some fasteners and the air filter.... no silencers are listed. I can probably get them though if you really want me to look into it I will - but as stated it will probably be better to sell and buy a new kit. The silencers on their own are probably not cheap! Or maybe think about an after-market slip-on... we can offer ZARD or Arrow in carbon and you can reuse the stock ECU and sell off the silencers to cover some of the cost. Title: Re: Arrows question Post by: w7ck7d on January 27, 2009, 07:57:26 PM ok so if i wanna get the arrow or any other brand except termi my racing ECU will not be compatible with em.Is that what you saying??

The opposite - it will be better to use the Arrow or whatever brand with the ECU that came with your Termi setup rather than the stock ECU.
