some of the other industries asking for $$$ are full of boobs and d*cks, so I guess these two figured "why not?". [roll]
...or maybe they figured they'd highlight just how ridiculous the whole bailout scenario really is.
I bet they will get it [thumbsup]

you might be right, but it is still wasting time and money dealing with their request.
somehow I don't think joe francis is the type to make political statements as much trying to make money. Flynt....... maybe.
you know, what the hell... while we're giving away money left right and center, why not send some the way of the porno industry?
if you advertise a free lunch, you shouldn't get pissy when everybody comes by.
It just makes me think less of these guys. I don't see how porn and the economy are related. (http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll161/porschaholic/smileys/angry-smiley-012.gif)(http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll161/porschaholic/smileys/sport-smiley-005.gif)
they are doing what every business is doing, asking for a bailout.
why should some people get a bailout and others not? bc you don't "like" their business?
they provide a product and aservice that people use and buy as noted by their sales. just like the banks. they employ people in administrative functions, give business to shipping industires, give money indirectly for brick and mortar stores, etc.
its a legitimate industry that pays taxes and people buy their stuff. they should get a bailout, at least they dont' bet their future on bad mortgaged backed securities liek the so called "smarter financial institutions"
at least the porn industry is honest about saying they are in teh business of $crewing people, where the banks don't have the honesty to admit even that.

Maybe I can apply for a mortgage bailout. I pay it on time every month, but my life would be so much easier if I didn't have to write that check every month...
Oh well ~
JM
Porn industry wants a money shot? Big surprise... [evil]

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd ZING!!!
I'd rather bail out porn than U.S. Automakers. Unlike an American car, I'd actually consider buying porn

Less disposable income = less chance people will buy porn
less disposable income = less people go out to dinner
less disposable income = less people go on vacation
etc.

Well. Done. [thumbsup] This thread is like a zinger factory. I got nothing, but surely someone can come up with something about porn needing government fluffing... Like I said, nuttin.
I think some people are missing the point. Flynt is doing what Flynt does best. Make that second best: he is being a gadfly. We need people like him in times of absurdity.

Elliot Spitzer has already chipped in and done his part.
