Back in the day I raced Motocross in the 125cc, 250cc, and Open classes riding Honda's then Yamaha's. To say these bikes were modified would be an understatement as the motors were highly modified to produce the maximum amount of power (read usable) within their limited power band, they would just scream. As for the suspensions they were maxed out as probably well beyond what the factory engineers and designers had in mind. The goal was always to get on the pipe and keep it there, produce as much power as you could, and have the suspension to get it to the ground. This was the challenge... They were great fun but it would always lead to a search for the perfect suspension something adjustable and tuneable. Suspension it's the Holy Grail!
Zoom and fast forward to today…. I have always enjoyed riding and I would look at others bikes and think to myself 'could I see myself riding one of those?'. I have always been partial to BMW's and Ducati's and over the course of a few months I began to find myself at various dealers checking out what they had to offer and looking at what was 'new' as well as checking out the 'used' bikes. On one particular day when I had stopped by a Ducati dealer and was checking out what they had on hand I found the bike that I would eventually buy, a 2007 S2R 1000. The interesting thing about this bike was that it had been set up by Ducati as a Show bike so that it would highlight their Ducati Performance products, it had quite a few Performance and Carbon Fiber parts that were listed in the Ducati Performance Catalog. Although, I have added a few things so that it better fits me I am very happy with the S2R1K. It has an great low end torque that pulls from down low all the way up to the higher rpm's, truly it can get up an go thanks to the full Termi setup. Less weight and more power is always a good thing.
But there remains the issue of the suspension... it needs to be improved and as I have said I am well aware of the fact that when it comes to suspensions they are the Holy Grail...

dude, that's a lot of carbon fiber, lol. nice bike! btw, can we get a list of mods?
That is so nice. Not the bike I remember from La Ducati Day. Looks like you've been busy with mods. Awesome!!!!!
Nice!! [thumbsup]
looked at the title of the thread and couldn't help but think my 1st thought of what caliber gun you shot it with...
looks like a solid candidate for Bike of the Moment on the front page of this board to me!
meh, looks ok. You should think about adding some carbon fiber to it. ;D
Jk, it looks AMAZING!! [thumbsup]
Wanted to thank everyone for the comments.... I have added a list of the mods and soon I will be adding a short story as well.
Thanks again,
CSTLWTR
REALLY, REALLY nice!
Can't say much more. [thumbsup]
Love the black with red frame. Starting with red bike is the way to go. I'd have to disassemble entire bike to get frame painted red
That bike is sweet. Pics are nice too, but what are you shooting with? As others have said, looks grainy. Try turning down the sensitivity (ISO) to its lowest setting and adjust the exposure to match. You'll lose some of the noise in the shadows and gain a little detail. Unless thats the effect you're after. Not trying to pick, they look good. Just spending my Sun. morning looking for stuff to type about. [coffee]
