Title: Clueless advertisers.
Post by: Popeye the Sailor on January 11, 2009, 01:53:54 PM
So, there's this new online thing called the "knowledge generation bureau" Okay, I can deal with the name, but then they abbreviated it to "KGB". Does this strike anyone else as possibly a poor name for a new business? Did no one notice this?

I don't think this Knowledge Generation Bureau thing is the real business. It's some sort of pre-Superbowl viral marketing campaign by some big company trying to be cool. Probably IBM or something. My guess is there'll be a big SUperbowl ad that ties it all together and we find out that <company X> has all the same answers yadda yadda yadda.

I wish I could be inoculated from viral campaigns.  :-\

Here in Houston we have a company called "BJ services"  Their web page (http://www.bjservices.com/) reads like a DIY double entendre:  "BJ news", "Go BJ!", and of course, "tubular services. "

I checked out the KGB website....sounds just like a service I use now called Cha-Cha.

I was hoping it would be some sort of Russian intellegence recruitment site.... [laugh]
