Yousendit.com is a great resource for sharing large files.

Alternatively, if somebody can put it up on an FTP site somewhere, that'd be great too.

Looks like copyright laws don't apply in "cyber-wares" world.

I am all for giving someone a torque spec, or a copy of an old manual, but ebaying brand new factory manuals for profit seems like a shady business to support.

Is this manual the full thing that the dealers would have?  I was skeptic about purchasing it  not knowing if it had all that we would need in a manual.  If someone could host the file, that would be great.  I would rather spend $15 towards a new sprocket.  As far as someone getting rich of the ebaying of a manual, it seems like it only takes one person to post it before others find out how to get it for free.

Also, what is the SVG format.  Do you have to access the manual through your browser or another program?

SVG is a scalable vector graphics format.

Got a copy.  The service manual part seems to work just fine, lots of good info.  The spare parts section does not seem to work but it may be a Mac thing, I'll be troubleshooting that later.

I've got a pdf file of the 696 parts lists, it includes exploded views of everything...

It's yours, if you want.

Great manual, has every thing you ever needed to know, well about the 696, didn't tell me who shot Kennedy.

I have started my rebuild, must fun, till the snow is gone.

Bring on global warming, melt that snow!!!!!

Wasn't there a site that hosted big files? It had the pdf of all the DMFer's bike pics. Maybe we could post it there.

Causeofkaos, are you in the states? If we don't find somewhere to host it, I'd like to get one from you, on CD. I'll split the purchase cost with ya.

I just bought the program.
Did you ever get the file to fully extract, and work correctly?

I can not, for the life of me, get the file to extract fully, and allow me to use the manual.

I can't recommend that anyone else buy this program, because it currently does not work.

BC.
