Title: Re-wiring... Post by: NAKID on May 12, 2008, 08:19:25 PM So, over the past few weeks I have done some re-wiring to clean up the right side of the bike.
Stu was nice enough to send me a new starter wire long enough to go around the other side of the bike. I also extended the wires for the oil temp and pressure senders to route them in a less conspicuous location. Here's a couple pics. Then a drilled out AN fitting slipped over the switch itself. It would look like an oil line then or at least the old style mechanical oil line going to the gauge.
Perfect situation is to redesign the sidecase cover and make all the uglies disappear. But that is a lot of work as I'm discovering... Title: Re: Re-wiring... I've done mine but havent yet rerouted the wires,that'll be soon. [thumbsup] If that were me I'd also do something with the spark line, you cant hide it ,I think I'd give it a coloured sleeve or something....not being cheeeky,just thinking out loud. ;D Title: Re: Re-wiring... Title: Re: Re-wiring... Post by: spinned on May 13, 2008, 06:11:15 PM I just measured mine out an dwent to a stereo store and had them make up a new line for me on the starter. Replacing it took 20 minutes. Then I cut the oil line and soldered in an extension of wire about 8 inches long and put some shrink wrap over the line. That probably took 20 minutes too.
