Title: Ladies - Jacket advice needed
Post by: MrFryMoto on January 14, 2009, 12:32:33 PM
The girlfriend is looking at getting some gear - we went to cycle-gear and had her try on a few jackets - problem was that what fit her length-wise (arms, etc.) didn't fit her around the chest (too small).

Any brands out there that are a bit more forgiving / what are our options?

ICON.
Specifically the Hooligan 54 jacket.
It's not quite as "form fitting" as the other ladies jackets.
Santa just picked one up for my lady recently. It's really nice. Their stuff, despite the squidly connotations, is top notch quality.
Right down to the secret St.Christopher pendant sewn into each jacket.

It's a mesh jacket. I have an Accelerant Perf as well, love the damn thing.
Their stuff is cut a little bigger in the body than the euro/other brands. Fits us big, neanderthal-like Americans.

Fry,

I have had the best luck with Fieldsheer and Cortech covering my larger chest.

This is what I have for mesh: (It's figure flattering, not boxy)

And I use to wear this leather:

Hope that helps.

I love my Alpinestars gear but I find it is not very forgiving in size, especially if you are in the least bit ''womanly'' shaped.  Joe Rocket is kind of the same, in my experience.  I have a Teknic Supervent mesh jacket and find it super comfy and more relaxed in fit.

If she's buying, Dainese makes very stylish gear for women. If your buying, any ol' crap will do.
