Title: am I crazy to think about this?
Post by: dohc97 on January 14, 2009, 01:37:08 PM
My first bike was a 2006 S2R 1000, which was then sold and I got a 2007 BMR R1200S, which was then again sold.  I currently have a 2008 Duc 1098.  Lately, I have been googling a Triumph Speed Triple and the MV Agusta 1078RR.

Need more info. Why did you sell the last 2 bikes?
Are you not happy with the 1098?
What do you expect out of the Triumph or the MV that you're not getting now?
IMO, it's not fiscally sensible to change vehicles every year(Cars or bikes).

Nope, not crazy at all.   Simply buy both while keeping the 1098.  Will make a nice little collection and keep you from running up inordinate miles on any particular one of the three!

Gene failed at that one!

if you can easily afford the new bikes, then no its not crazy its called supporting the economy by spending more money, and that is good.

if you can't easily afford selling the bike or buying two new bikes, then yes you are crazy.

Yeah, but what're the chances that dohc97 knows as many roads as Gene????    ;)
I hope slim.

True but my inventory are bikes that can actually be ridden for more than a couple of hundred miles.

You could buy them both, keep all three, then rent them out to those of us that would like to try them.  :)
