Post by: Icon on January 16, 2009, 10:41:47 AM
Anyone up for some Azusa this Sat. Meet up at 8:30am at the Mobil.

I'm on a Silver S2R1000. We can run up Azusa, over the bridge, have a ( [beer] ) break and then down GMR.  Maybe back around if your up to it.

Let me know.

I could be up for it.  I have never been up there and have heard it is a fun road.  I am just getting back on the bike after a few years off so I am not the fastest so I completely understand if you want to leave me behind.  Where exactly is the Mobel?  I am coming from south bay so I am assuming it will take about an hour or so to get there.  I am on a  blue S4R.  My name is Patrick

Go up the 605 North if you can. Take 210 East (about 2miles) and exit Azusa ave,  Make a Left at the light, go under the overpass and you will see the Mobil on the left side.  No worries about riding slow...I'm not looking to win a trophy myself.

Here is the Mobil address:
145 N Azusa Ave
Azusa, CA 91702

Got back all right.  In really looking at the bike I really can't see how it could have been Del Amos fault.  It looks like there are 5 rubber spacers in the sprocket which completely deteriorated leaving just the metal inserts which ate away the eccentric and then into the swing arm.  Lead mechanic (which was actually a really cool guy) said he has never seen anything like it.  I am still pissed though.  Might need a new swing arm. Time to start looking on the black market for one just in case.

Glad you made it back home safe. I really don't see why you would need a new swing-arm. Aside from some missing metal it looked ok to me. Do they have your bike still? Or are you going to order the parts and have them put it on?

Go here for your parts if you need a place. Good prices and quick shipping. Just look on the left for your Model and year.

Good luck and keep us up to date. We'll ride again when your up and running. [moto]

Sounds like I missed an "interesting" ride this weekend. Did you guys find something wrong w/ sportskid1's bike after/during the ride?

We noticed some metallic flakes on his white rims and thought it was the brake or chain. Come to find out that he did not have that plate that you use to adjust the chain. That plate was missing and that plate holds in these 5 or so round bushings. Those bushings were smacking the swring-arm everything the wheel moved. The horror! MY EYES!

Have not heard from him since he posted.
