Does anyone have any FHE with the newer waterborne paint systems?

PIA to work with compared to the flammable lacquers, nowhere near as hard/scuff resistant until full cure.  At least on wood cabinets...

We use a Kremlin air assisted airless kit.

My painter associates who I've heard talking about waterborne say...

They suck.
If it's cold, forget about it.
The paint will stay wet until it's covered with bugs and dust.

There are pro painting folks here who can say a lot more.

no personal FHE, but a buddy at another shop (auto collision repair)  just got back from training and said if you follow the directions, it goes fine, (the geezers he works with try to paint exactly like solvent-based, with poor results...)

I've always enjoyed painting but my health prohibits it these days. I thought, with no toxins, I might dabble with it. According to the paint companies, it's already becoming mandatory in Europe and the US EPA isn't far behind. I think I'll sit and watch for awhile.

One thing I do know is the clears are still activated urethanes...a bit modified, but still the nasty stuff.
