Any ideas on how I  shut off my gas before removing the tank. I have a 99 M750 dark. There is no petcock or any other shutoff that I can find. Goging to send frame out for powder coating.

You have to clamp the hose. What I do is clamp the hose in between the tank and fuel filter. Disconnect the line after the filter, hook up piece of hose the same diameter that drops into a fuel can, release the clamp, and drain the tank. Then you can remove the tank very easily.

Thanks. Will Do. I thought that is what I would end up doing the book I have indicates I should have a shutoff. Thanks for your help.

Well...
you do technically have a shutoff.
It doesn't do much good with a full or partially full tank of fuel because it's bolted to the frame underneath the tank hinge. It is also vacuum operated and is known to be a problem item on carbed Monsters.
Get a manual replacement.   ;)

I will check that out. After noting all the plumbing coming from under the tank I was unable to trace any line to such. I did notice that lines were plumbed directly to the vacuum module. Still will look @ under the tank hinge and even if not there look for a manual type shutoff.  [thumbsup]

The 99 750 only came with the vacuum petcock mounted at the tank hinge.
It will have 1 line coming from the intake manifold and then a fuel in from the tank and a fuel out to the vacuum fuel pump .
