Title: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Post by: Spider on January 19, 2009, 03:16:06 AM frickin, it's been months, and good ducati's (with good owners who are half sensible with there prices, not blokes who are up in Brisbane trying to sell his 4 year old S4R for $20,000) are frickin rare...so I'm widening the net a bit...
anyone got any experience with Benelli Tornado Tre? how about the other Italian brands Bimota, Moto Morini, Benelli....they are all going into the pot!....even tried to see in a KTM super duke 990 was feasible. any thoughts, suggestions? Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Post by: goldFiSh on January 19, 2009, 04:38:13 AM my thoughts are: if you ask that question on a ducati forum, expect the answer to be 'wait for a good duc' you impatient fella
I had the same issue, could not find what I wanted when I was looking.... so I ended up travelling to melb to look at a few bikes and test ride them, with a view that if I found something I liked, then i'd ride it home. have you only looked in vic? I just scanned bike sales, and there's a demo S2R1000 for 14.5K with just over 12000kms on clock, or a M1000S with 8500 on it for just over 11K (but that's in perth) There are quite a few other 1000DS bikes there as well, but most with 20-30k on their clocks (if that bothers you) Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Has the importer of the first 3 brands closed their doors? Stoney Creek Power Sports?... parts may be a hassle. I like the idea of the KTM [thumbsup] Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Post by: BretMorris on January 19, 2009, 03:50:20 PM No experience with the Bimoto but being that the engine is Ducati based you shouldnt have any trouble with parts for the motor! I think there has been some supply problem with them and the other Italian bikes, Moto Morini etc. but not 100% sure. If your budget can extend to a new Bimoto I know you will get one at a good price but if you were going to do that why not buy a new Ducati???

I'll drop him another email! The Benelli is looking good people.....you may lose me! I mean seriously...the thing has exhaust fans....it looks jet powered!!!! Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Post by: brad black on January 20, 2009, 03:31:34 AM the tornados overheat i'm told.
the guy who does my website has a tnt. once all the recall updates were done he apparantly hasn't had any more issues. if you want something different, consider it. be prepared to lose money and have issues with support i'd think, but if you want one, buy one. but then jap owners say that about ducatis. considered a guzzi griso? There's an S4Rs 2004 Black here for sale in Launceston in Sportsrider it has everything CF and gold you could possibly imagine a VERY, VERY nice bike show quality, open clutch with gold internals and CF cover, want me to find how much it is? ;D My hubby knows a lot of the back ground on it the guy bought new on 12 FEB 2004 for $21,995 I will try and see if I can get a photo of it, how much are you roughly looking at to spend? EGAS PS I am just adding that I have emailed them as it does not seem to be on their website yet so will let you know if you are interested after all we are just over the way [thumbsup] Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? compare that to Rusty's at $17,500. I've put in an offer on an s2r though, so I'm trying people! the $10,500 S4R 2004 was a decent bike at a decent price, I'll keep going....although this cold/flu medication is frickin like flyin....I'll just grab those Magura bars from the spare room and pretend! vroom frickin vroom [moto] Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? how's the bike riding going? got a picture of your legs? lean and waxed? I'll try and have a bike by the time the 'mongrels' at Vicroads return that piece of plastic to you...I still believe they didn't accept "I was speeding because....I ride a Ducati!!!! hello? anyone there??? What do YOU think they are for?" Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Post by: brimo on January 22, 2009, 06:37:16 PM The only Benelli I ever really liked was this one, gotta love those mufflers.....

I just drooled on the keyboard :) Title: Re: Benelli - anyone got any experience? Post by: Dockstrada on January 23, 2009, 02:49:30 AM Rusty's bike!
