Title: Fiat Chrysler
Post by: mitt on January 20, 2009, 08:51:58 PM
I didn't see that one coming.

Seems odd that Fiat, a company that was failing a several years ago (when GM was trying to dump their share) now has the upper hand at a merger.

Too bad most of their cars I don't care for.

This I could live with though

I think some of their Alfa products are really kick ass.

However, I think Chrysler is looking to bring more of the Fiat line of small cars to the states as their sales really sucked last summer when EVERYONE else was selling every small car they could build.

Oh, and since Ducati sources some products from Magneti Marelli, there's a good chance your bike has a little Fiat DNA in it!!

Rossi's bike is going to say "DODGE" on the side now when the races are here in the US.

I like the idea...Daimler injected some serious styling improvements into Chrysler. And while not all Fiat products are smashingly beautiful, at least they have a design group that takes things in a different light and direction.

I like Rossi's Fiat bike.

Me too!  I'm not a huge fan of the race rep bikes, but if I could get my hands on one, I totally would buy it.

I was already anticipating the return of FIAT, since they had announced some months ago that the new 500 would be coming to the states. I had several FIATs in the dim and distant past, and really enjoyed them. If they come with a Chrysler badge, well, I can deal with that. Chrysler does desperately need a small, fuel efficient vehicle to add to their lineup.

Methinks win/win.
