Title: catalytic converter stolen from my truck in SF over the weekend. Post by: bosco on May 13, 2008, 09:10:45 AM I have fallen victim to the cat stealing epidemic :'( My 93 Toyota was parked off of Broderick in SF for 2 days and Monday morning I got in to find that it was missing its cat. Cut clean out, that sucker was loud when I fired it up .
Now some crackhead is in la la land with the money from my truck part and I am stuck putting in a replacement for a few hundred bucks. Be careful, 4runners and 4x4 toyotas are targeted for the cat. Cant you just replace it with a piece of flexible steel exhaust pipe & two U clamps from the Auto store? Or will that cause the computer to freak?
