He looks so comfortable. I don't know, if I could do that I might.  But I can't even get my front tire off the ground. I'll add this skill to the list of things I will never get around to.   [moto]

[roll] Those were totally Brazilian accents...  :P

This is the main reason I stopped riding with gloves.

In the land of train surfing, this could fit in nicely.
That is one odd culture. Not that I understand it at all, but some of it is mighty pretty, just mighty odd.

I'm sure for how outrageous we may think that is, some would say the same for two any wheeled travel.

I'm in India right now.  I'll say "hi."   :P

In India -- they'd be driving on the other side of the road.  And they'd be dodging cows.  No shit the other night we were driving back to the hotel from the office on this new tollroad, when a group of about 5-6 cows that had been hanging out on the side of the road start a mini-stampede.  They start running (20mph?) along with traffic, then at a break in the highway divider, cut across 3 lanes of traffic on each side and start running back the other direction.

It rivaled that video in amazement factor.

that's the trouble when you go and make an animal a deity ... they start thinking they are all that and a bag of chips ... then they start hanging out in gangs, and next thing you know ... they start a stamped.

stupid cows  [roll]

Came around a corner once on Chileno Valley Rd. and there was a huge steer blocking the entire road. Must've been well over 1000 lbs. That's as close as I ever want to get to livestock when riding!

Yea that's serious. How serious? Well I know some people that were driving pretty fast one night in an Old Super Bee. Remember those? about 4,000 Lbs give or take. Hit the great big cow in the road. The rear window popped out on impact, Messed up the frond end badly, Messed up the body work all down the drivers side of the car, Pretty much stopped the car. The Cow Moood and walked off from the scene. Yea didn't exchange insurance or anything, So the guy was on the hook for the damage.  [cheeky]

Can you imagine that on a bike?

I have seen cow roadkill on the road (in Elk Grove, a pretty straight road) and wondered how on earth someone hit it. ???

The Milk Run was probably in the same spot on Chileno Valley...you go over a small rise, just before the schoolhouse at the end of the road. We had a group ride (10 people) and there were 7 or 8 cows. We ended up herding the cows along the road for about 1/4 mile, dodging fresh cow patties the whole way [laugh]

Not quite - that's a spot where you can see pretty far ahead. I was going in the 'reverse' direction around a blind corner. Fortunately I was riding with the big head that day...

A woman escaped serious injury and refused medical treatment after a cow knocked her down and walked on her legs. Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks ranger Pete Taylor said the woman was riding her bicycle along the South Boulder Creek Trail on Monday when she encountered the cow and stopped to let the animal cross.

Instead, the cow knocked the woman over and stepped on her legs.

Taylor said the woman wasn't seriously hurt. Her name was not released.

The cow had left the area by the time rangers arrived, but other people warned fellow bikers and hikers on the trail about the animal.

Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance vice president Jason Vogel called the incident "odd, rare and random."
