Looks like the weather forecast this weekend is sunny and dry(not sure if that entails to warm).

I'm looking for fellow MOBsters interested in a noob/mellow ride around the SF/Peninsula - Less Technical Route... if possible..

I prefer Saturday morning, but if the consensus calls out for Sunday, I am willing to participate as well, as long as its no later than lunch time.

I can ride either day for a few hours, but will have to head back early.

Sat: other stuff after noon-ish
Sun: superbowl pre-game  [drink] and stuff after noon-ish

My weekend is very up in the air, but I will take a look at whatever is decided as the "plan" and if I can make it, I will.  Thanks for suggesting this!

Sat is out for me. Sunday is questionable since my lame friends still haven't decided what to do for Superbowl. If I miss this one, hope there will be similar rides in the near future.

We can shoot for the following weekend to get a better turnout - superbowl weekend seem to deter other peeps from making it this weekend...

Also, superbowl weekend is friggin' ideal for a ride through the twisties-every squid and other idiot will be glued to a tv. That'll probably mean limited LEO presence. Let's not get hasty here.


Besides, the weekend after is going to be chock full with everyone helping me move   ;D

Not really changing my mind here. I'm up for whatever the consensus is, as long as its early and before noon.  Ummm: Twisties?? :o  Does Mellow and Twisties ever mix well? 

Very true, and it will be worse earlier in the morning.  Best to have a bit of a later start to let things dry out, or else wait a few weeks.

I'm up for it as long as the wife lets me and you all are willing to ride with someone on an inferior brand :(

I am in no hurry to ride the twisties hence i am looking for a mellow/noob ride.

Hopefully there are others in the same boat as i am who would like to take the same approach.

We can take the mellow twisties. Skyline is pretty cake.

I'm in! Never been on a group ride so a mellow one sounds about right.

*update - got a nail in my FRONT  tire of all places today, and don't think I'll get around to fixing it by saturday, so I'm out till further notice   :(

I am willing to lead and set the pace, or sweep and keep the cars at bay-they don't bug me none.

I'm in for saturday.  I don't know the area very well, but maybe meet up in Half Moon Bay somewhere and do a combo of Skyline and hwy 1 down to santa cruz and back?

I work in Half Moon Bay and need to stop by the office for a few hours.  Depending on the time, I'm in as well.

Since I haven't been able to go riding in a while due to traveling so much (just returned from 2 weeks in Asia) and am still not familiar with the roads here ... I am definitely up for a mellow ride  [thumbsup]

It's nothing crazy...only about 100 miles door to door for me because I've gotta be back home by noon ish.  I plan on being at point B (skywood trading post) by 9:45 ish on the way to point C, then turning back around. 

If there is a ride in the works otherwise, then post up gang.

What time would you be leaving Saratoga? Could we meet at that Starbucks at the corner of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road and Hwy 9 (at least I think those are the streets)?

I stole the gimps Brutale, so I'm going to flog it through the twisties on the way home tonight.

From 84 I'd probably shoot up to 92 on 1 and head on home, depending.

anyone joining this group ride from SF/Daly City area?

I'm heading down from oakland.  Should we set up another meet up in sf somewhere and take 280 all the way down?  We'd probably have to meet up about 7:30-7:45 ish, that way we could have 20 mins to chill out and get some coffee in saratoga before the real ride begins.

I'm glad we're getting a few folks together for a ride, but want to preface the following...

Because we're having a wide range of riding ability present on Saturday, and people coming in 2s'-3's from several areas, I urge everyone to ride within their own limit.  As for me, I'll be taking it slow for the portion that I'm riding (no thanks to johnny-law screwing me 2 months ago  [bang])

id like to go on this ride, but im headin from berkeley and im not familiar with the penninsula, so id be down to meet up in the city and ride down from there with someone who knows where theyre goin.  anyplace that would be good for us to meet up?

If you guys are still meeting up in the peninsula - around the Daly City area, i'd meet up with you guys but will probably have to bail around the 280/92 Junction.  >:( 

Me and another newb are meeting up in San Mateo (just off the 92/101 junction basically). I can lead from there if anyone needs to meet up.

I checked my bike last night...started up fine, fluids etc fine...this morning the bike isn't starting.    [bang] [bang] [bang] [bang]

It's on the trickle charger now...if it has enough juice, I'll try to meet up directly at STP.  If not, have a good one.

Nice riding with everyone and putting names to faces...it turned out to be a nice little 3 hour ride.

It was a great ride. Hope everyone got home safe and sound. It was so nice out I didn't want to stop. I took a few pictures and I'll post them up later.

I definitely enjoyed my first group ride. The ride down to Saratoga in the fog wasn't so great, but it was worth it. Good thing I saw the starbucks at the last second, otherwise that other Ducati group leaving from the gas station would have been wondering why/who this random person was tagging along with them. Glad you made it out Sidm and thanks Cynic for guiding us back to 92. That was a great route and it was nice to meet you guys and your friend Cynic. I look forward to doing it again.

I was wondering if R2 or Mattv noticed if 35 was really rough heading to 92 from alice's. I thought it was crazy, but with a new bike I'm still trying to figure out if my suspension is really tight or if it was the road. I haven't ridden up there in months so I can't recall, and was wondering what you guys thought.

I noticed there were a bunch of bumps coming in and going out of where they had repaved sections of the road.
