Kitchen staff of a Muskego supper club beat an alleged armed robber in the head with a large spoon Friday night and then held him until officers arrived and arrested him, police and employees at the supper club said today.
Bartender Terri Blight witnessed the struggle at Muskego's Williams Supper Club.
Around 10 p.m., a 39-year-old man in a motorcycle helmet entered the supper club from the rear kitchen entryway.
He grabbed a 15-year-old girl by the arm and demanded money.
According to Blight he told the staff he had a gun.
Blight went to the register, pulled out some cash and tried to give it to him. The owner had already called police.
But once the chef, Erick Minor, and a cook, Andrew Tess, realized what was happening, they fought back, Blight said.
They pulled off the man's helmet, and repeatedly struck him over the head with a large spoon.
"…They rapped him across the head several times and he just wouldn't go down," said Blight.
According to Blight, the police arrived within minutes.
"He was still fighting when they got there," said Tess, who also said Muskego police used a Taser device to subdue the man.
The man was placed under arrest, and taken to Waukesha County jail. A request for charges is being forwarded to the Waukesha County District Attorney's office.
