Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: alexisonfire on January 27, 2009, 03:00:36 PM It's an interesting combination of colors. There are several clashing colors but it collectively pulls the bike together. I would update the rear fender (it's a bit square and '80s looking). I'm sure you have plenty of modifications in mind.
Are you keeping the stock cans on it? If so, let's do a core party soon. Congrats. Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: bryant8 on January 27, 2009, 03:03:08 PM Mods for the track

At least it does have adjustable forks, so that will do for now. and yes for sure a damper!!

[evil] cool ride, man. glad to see you'll be tearing it up on the track on a monster [thumbsup] i'd say a big +1 on the rearsets...i was slipping off the inside peg on occasion in the rattlesnake on the trackday in october. not cool. and i take it you'll be putting new rubber on before your first trackday? =) Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: fastwin on January 27, 2009, 03:52:10 PM Alan,
Is that the same Monster you told me about last time we talked? Some guy had the bike but never rode it and was really stuck on a certain price and wouldn't budge one dollar? Seems there was some other reason for selling it... wife? girlfriend? I may have the story all hacked up but that is the bike right? Seems like it was a '98 900. Anyway, very nice!! The mods will keep you busy over the winter months. [thumbsup] Hey, when's the move to WV? Is that still on? Take care 'bro! Alexisonfire... that core party would have to take place in Ohio. Brrrrrrrrr! [laugh] Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: LYD on January 27, 2009, 04:03:55 PM Alan, Is that the same Monster you told me about last time we talked? [laugh] Yes thats the bike. well I offered him 38 and he wanted 4 so I said 39 and that was that. I pick it up in 2 weeks, then the movers come and move it to WV. and yes I start work there on the 2nd. mods will come slowly until Mindy finds a job, but at least I have the bike!!!! [thumbsup] Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: DesmonsterS4RS on January 27, 2009, 04:05:30 PM Awesome Alan!

This is the original owner, he went out one day to buy a cruiser and came home with a monster. It still has the original tires on it with chicken strips about an inch wide. Said he drove it a couple times a year, kept the oil changed and the battery charged. never downed or raced. Sounds like mine. '02 purchased in '08 with 1600 miles on the odo. Stock tires, showroom condition. Your bike is going from pampered to track ridden. [clap] [thumbsup] Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: DesmonsterS4RS on January 27, 2009, 04:41:42 PM Thats funny [laugh] I'll trade ya ;) Looks like Mindy better get a DMF account started [thumbsup] [thumbsup] Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: LYD on January 27, 2009, 04:51:44 PM I'll trade ya ;) Looks like Mindy better get a DMF account started [thumbsup] [thumbsup] Mindy doesn't want to ride she wants to learn golf. The new house is a golf community with 3 18 hole courses. The LYD will be fun driving by the tee's [evil] this will become a track bike mainly. Not to threadjack my own thread, but how are you doing little brother (cory) Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: fastwin on January 27, 2009, 04:58:42 PM I think he got yellow all over it.... That's funny as hell!!! [laugh] And yes, there ought to be a law against anything being that quiet. When I got my S2R1000 I got the full Termi system at the same time (well, ordered it...) and Jeff said "oh, we'll just slap it on when you come in for the 600 mile service". That was the most quiet and aggravating 600 miles ever!! [bang] Drove me nuts it was so quiet!! There has to be a 12 step program to prevent the loud pipes addiction!! [evil] I ain't goin'!! [moto] Title: Re: Meet LYD's older brother Post by: svoloch on January 27, 2009, 05:57:08 PM Is there room in the dining room?

[thumbsup] Is there room in the dining room? as soon as that table is gone there will be. Plenty of room, but on the 9th they are coming to pick up everything and take it to WV. the new house has a partially completed walkout basement, and the bikes have a designated room!. [thumbsup]Very cool bike, LYD! Of course it's the wrong color but other than that... I know but it will be a great track bike! its a dark grey, oh well!
