Question:
Should I get a Miele CVA2650 coffee maker, which uses the Nespresso coffee pods? Are they worth it?

I like a built in coffee maker.
We like the Miele coffee makers, but the spot we have in our kitchen is smallish, and won't fit a "regular" sized Miele, however, the 2650 is small enough but requires the Nespresso pods -- and they are refillable I have learnt.
Anyone?
The convenience would be nice, but there's a flavor difference with them pod things.
^^ +1 Depending on just how much you like your coffee, there isn't a pod system on the market that will cut it up against a well brewed cup. It depends on how strong you like your go juice too. Espresso drinks don't have as much caffeine as a standard drip cup. Do you have a link to the maker you're thinking about?

I have one and I do enjoy the quality and convenience of the pod system, I always say to people try them first, I am not a big coffee drinker, but when I do have a cup I find they produce a much better coffee than even the best instant coffee I have tried.
I have a Delonghi machine with automatic milk frother and so far it has been a very easy machine to setup and use. We have played around with the settings to get the strength of coffee the missus wants.
I respect the high end coffee machine fans, they refuse to accept them as a decent coffee system, and that may be true, but for the sake of the muck around of grinding, tamping, preheating, milk frothing, brewing and then clean and tidy up
vs
drop in a little pod, push a button and get a great coffee every time.

Yep, the pod machines are a trade between convenience and quality, and wouldn't want one in my house. I wouldn't put them down either. Besides the convenience, you also get the benefit of a a consistent cup. My hair cutter has a commercial pod machine in his shop. It doesn't use the Nespresso pod, it uses a bag specific to that machine. Gotta admit, I look forward to a cup whenever I go there.
I thought about getting a pod coffee maker to keep on my night stand. Havent tasted the coffee yet. Refillabe is a cool feature.
from a non coffee drinker (once every 6 months) the Nespresso are pretty good.but what the hell do i know? When i was spending Thanksgiving with a cuban family, their parents made espresso shots every hour through out the day and those things were MUCH more full of flavor than the machines.
rgamjet, are you talking about those pocuhed with a werid nozzle? about palm size and also offers some non coffee flavors? Those are pretty good too.

I have a Nespresso D300, chrome, beautiful, and timeless in its design - it's been going strong for over 5 years now. I actually really enjoy picking the pods with the "strength" that I feel like picking from whenever I feel like having a small coffee or an espresso. At 45 cents a pod or $4.50 for a sleeve of 10 pods, it's really worth it if you need a quick pick-me-up. I don't believe they charge shipping if you buy a certain amount. And their "limited edition" coffee pods that they make from countries such as China, countries in Africa are pretty good marketing gimmicks for getting me to buy those pods... makes it interesting.
Having said that, I also have a regular coffee maker for when I feel like having a big ol', nice ginormous cup o'coffee to go with my morning paper! :)

is it a keurig by any chance?
they make a good cup in my opinion... we got one because mike started leaving a couple hours before me, and my coffee was always burnt, and i'd start over with a whole new pot. green mountain makes some k-cups that are nice and strong, organic too.
definitely worth the convenience factor [thumbsup] [coffee]
